People write opposing things under my thread so it kinda makes me confused.. I know that i don't need a work permission to take a marriage. the question has hidden irony. If You can't read between the lines don't write at all.. After what i ve read here, some people here know less than i know..

It is an open public forum.

You will receive many comments the majority of which are intended to be helpful.

I would suggest "irony" is a difficult concept for a non native English speaker to grasp or use.

You must decide what you are going to do but before you decide please read my last post.

Irony? you mean you were being sarcastic..also as English is not your first language, being sarcastic/ironic isn't going be understood as clearly as if you were a native speaker and most people would think the question you asked was serious...

No, I don't think the people on these posts know less than you know..most of them have given you very good advice and I would take very close heed to what "thepool" has told you..again no one is trying to rain on your parade, but you might look back someday and say "geez, what those folks said on TV, was right all along"

Maybe come here live for a few months even longer before you jump right into it. Come with a tourist visa, work online for a little bit and then if it's still all good, go ahead, but it is really wise to gauge the situation first hand before taking the plunge

Yeah. thanks for all the meritoric posts under my threatd, they are priceless. However i wasn't looking here for the "life knowledge" so i am asking kindly to stop the offtopic.

Well, I don't know about anybody else, but this appears to be a wind-up (troll perhaps) to me ...

this kid is still shitting yellow (wet behind the ears) and comes for advice and bags many posters trying to be helpful

I lived next a Polish bloke; belligerent when his comprehension level went into overload (in other words a FW).

I posted (#21) because I am going through the process and had empathy ... now its just annoyance.

My advice ... do what you want 'Duke Leto' ... and then you can post of your ironic success

The biggest problem of being in Thailand is the money issue,, take care of that first, if you don't have enough money (worry) because people say thailand is cheap but it can be expensive, remember you ~might~ have to take care of the family with ~money~ not just your wife, in Thailand you marry the girl ~you marry her family~ and don't forget the buffalo, it will get sick some time... it might be funny if it wasn't so true,, the first time i lived in Thailand about 4 years on and off i lived in cheap hotels ate out, i don't drink or smoke or party so the normal expenses of living there, i calculated i could live on $1000 US per month, so this is what you have to take in to account, marry is another thing, how about try to live together first to try things out and one day say the magic words for Thailand people,,, ~~ darling i have no money~~ what can i do, if she says, no worry darling i take care of you, then marry her, if she say, sorry you are no good to me, then there is your answer, leave with a smile on your face and your money in your pocket, in Thailand your money is the families money so the more you have the more they will spend,, be a wise man before you marry.

This has nothing at all to do with what the OP was asking whistling.gif

I was thinking about edu visa, not studying.. Somebody wrote me that i could get it for about 25 000baht, for a year.. I would like to live longer in TH before marriage, but if there is no other option.. My gf is working, she said that she wish to work after marriage. As far as i know, her brother earn good money as a stockboker.

Just get a 2 entry tourist visa that will give you about 6 months of total stay to give you time to decide what you want to do.

The ED visa you are writing about is probably getting extensions of stay.not a visa and dependent on where would mean doing them every 90 days at a cost of 1900 baht each. They are starting to crack down on schools that do not require attendance in classes.

I am a product designer.. Its not much of a work.. Really do i need a permission, is it possible to get?

If your working in thailand which it sounds like you will be your suppose to have a work permit, that's the legal position, but the practical question is will you get caught doing it ?

is there anyone on this forum that works online that actually has a work permit?

You get paid on Poland for work done online.

You pay your taxes in Poland.

Why do you need a work permit?

You show 400k ( transferred from your country) in an account yearly. Why would an immigration official be interested in your work?

I'll tell you my experience, that is all I can do. Many months ago this website stated that all O and OA visas require 800,000 in the bank. I checked the official website and it said the same. Upon my renewal for 2013 I asked at Chachoengsao, where I get my Type O renewed, they said yes, I need 800,000 in the bank or the equivalent in income - you know the usual. I know the website has changed and is now back to 4000,000 The visa people do not visit the website. I ask every time I go in last time was November of 2013 to get my year renewal for 2014. The answer was the same I need 800,000 or an income and money in bank equaling 800,000 in the bank to have a Type O (marriage) visa. and then I mail in my 90 day check in. I'll check in again in for my year in November of 2014 and maybe things will have changed. Several of my friends say NO that is wrong you only need 400,000. All I can tell you is what happens to me not what a website says that an immigration official has never gone to - what can I say? Thanks

You have not (at whatever cost) been obtaining "visas" in Thailand !

For an extension of stay based on marriage the financial requirements are 400,000 Bht in the bank OR an income of 40,000ht/month as certified by your Embassy or tax receipts if working in Thailand.

No offense was intended and I NEVER say people tell lies!

You , of course , can scan and post one of these "visas" received in Thailand so we all may learn

Thanks

Its a service offered to those who cannot be bothered to undertake the usually simple process of obtaining a visa.

It is the applicant who still has to do all the work, gather the required documents ect.

If a person feels rich and wishes to engage a lawyer then there is no reason why that should not be done.
