Tesco and Big C no longer sell Rice Krispies for some odd reason???

I know cause my son only wants to eat those cereals for Breakfast.

Anyway they are still available in any other supermarket in town.

Villa market, Friendship and Foodland still have them

What about Friendship supermarket Pattaya Tai?

I have seen them in Friendship, Central (supermarket next to the food court) and Villa.

Recently some things in the supermarkets have disappeared, presumably because of distribution problems associated with the disturbances in Bangkok, so I have no idea if these places have them right now, but normally they would.

Nigella Lawson approved recipe:

  • 45 grams butter
  • 300 grams mini marshmallows
  • 180 grams rice krispies
  • edible glitter or sprinkles (optional)
Method
  1. Melt the butter in a large, heavy-based saucepan over a low heat.
  2. Add the marshmallows and cook gently until they are completely melted and blended, stirring constantly.
  3. Take the pan off the heat and immediately add the cereal, mixing lightly until well coated.
  4. Press the mixture into a greased 32cm x 23cm tin / 13 x 9 inch pan; you may have to put on vinyl CSI gloves and press it down into the corners, as it will be very sticky. Flatten the top and then scatter over the edible glitter or sprinkles, if so inclined.
  5. Let the marshmallow crispy squares cool completely in the tin and then cut them into 24 squares.

O yes. Nigella. I'd like to cover her in melted butter, marshmallows and edible glitter... O.. excuse me... just thinking out loud.

Rice Krispies? I but them at Tops and Villa. Reach in the back for the fresher stuff.

7 years ago they definitely had them at Tesco South Pattaya. Given that I would expect they ought be fairly widespread now, or perhaps gone altogether.

Funny how we remember the really, really important stuff isn't it?
