Need to learn to trade stock options on Etrade - Steak dinner

I trade stocks with my Etrade account here but not options trading. I am approved to trade options but want to learn the ends and out before diving in. If someone is familiar and near Emporium or Terminal21, I will trade your knowledge for a steak dinner at Sizzler. I understand the calls and puts terminology just want to know best way to enter the trade and then CMA.

I am retired here and from Austin, Tx so can work around anyone's schedule..

Thanks... I had read and seen the youtube videos. I could place the purchase order but once I own it and in the money how would I sell it. Same with a put... Something about seeing it on the screen and then understanding all the in and outs once you own it.

I am member of investment meet-up groups in Bangkok but they are not that active.

If i were you i would trade in CFD's and first take a free testaccount so you can practise for some weeks. You can start in 10 minutes from now if you want, for free.

Google for cfd trading. You can make money up and down with a multiplier from 50 or more if you want. Options is oldfashioned.

I will trade my encyclopedic and highly profitable (so far) knowledge of options only in exchange for a steak dinner (plus a top-quality red wine) at the New York steakhouse at the Marriott, certainly not at Sizzler! The stakes are high, so put your money where your mouth is. Alternatively, if you want to receive completely wrong advice, I would accept a bowl of noodles on soi 11.

Trading naked options is very risky. It's better to trade spreads, thereby limiting your loss (and of course profits.). There is a wealth of information available on the web. I subscribe to Motley Fool Options and sometimes make their recommended trades. If you would like to meet and talk about options, I would be happy to do that. DogNo1, I like the idea of playing safe over risk. The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand is on BTS so no problem getting there. I could bring my notebook and make a small trade and then get back out of it so I know the in/out procedure. I am retired so can meet anytime though market doesn't over until 8;30 pm out time. How does dinner at 7:30pm then a live trade after 8:30pm sound. If they do not have wifi I can use wifi from my cell phone or use the Etrade app on my cell phone.

I am heading to Cambodia on the 1st and returning on the 10th. Can do this before or after the trip though after Cambodia I need to renew my visa for the coming year and then heading to North India to hang out by the mountains until the rainy season starts here. I am from Texas but even the heat here with the humidity is something I try to avoid. Best guess is I will be here till the 21st. My daughter teaches English here and she is heading back to the USA on the 15th so will spend time with her before she flies out.

Everyone else,, thx for the info... I will continue to do research and will be interested in more option strategies after I learn the basics.

Hi Chris,

Tuesday night would probably be best. There is a presentation on parenting starting at 1830 and going until 2030. We can probably find a seat where the presentation won't be too intrusive and since it ends at 2030, you could make your first trade after it is over. Please PM your phone number so that I can let you know if I must cancel at the last minute. I am having some issues with my heart and may need to schedule an angiogram but unless the blockage is dangerous, I want to schedule it for the latter part of the week. Hi Chris,

I put the problem with trading the synthetic long on Etrade to the Motley Fool forum and the response was that it requires level 3 clearance. The poster on Motley Fool Options was able to trade a synthetic long with level 3 clearance. Let me know what you find out from Etrade.
