Having access to an emergency number you can use is something everyone should want. I am calling the number to see if it works. It does not. There is nothing wrong with my phone.

I once witnessed a punter getting into an argument with the guardsman on a train. His line of reasoning was that he was exonerated from any liability of paying the rail fare, because the guard initially had allowed him do a headstand in the carriage instead of maintaining an upright position or being seated. Needless to say the constable who later attended the scene did not appear persuaded by such a defence and proceeded to nick the culprit.
