My home is overum with ants. First there were red ants

, then big black ants and now,

there are millions of little brown ants that seem to have

me surrounded !

They bite and seem unafraid of any broom or hosepipe

??

Any ideas to get rid of them ?

I have found the "chalk sticks" available in many local shops and all Thai markets extremely effective.

Just mark around the base of exterior walls, doorways and windows and re-apply as needed.

The caveat is that I haven't bothered to check the chemical nasties contained in it so would suggest thoroughly wash your hands after use and do not apply in places where babies or younger children might come into finger contact with it.

It isn't available in the Western world, maybe for good reason (TIT), but works with all types of ants.

mix a little bit of boric acid (borate) with a little bit of peanut butter and put some in beer bottle caps or small water caps. Set one in each trail of ants and within 3 - 4 days you will not have any ants . I have seen little plastic containers with a similar formula in them sold at lotus tesco here in Chalong, Phuket.

I use Naphthalene balls obtainable through Big C - kills all my little brown ants - 500 balls for about 63 baht.

We put them along the walls and inside cupboards. We have no pets so no answer to that question.

I had ants in my kitchen cupboards not long after the reno, so i bought some ant bait it comes in very small granules from Tesco it comes with two plastic containers that you put the bait into and the ants take it back to their nest and it kills the whole nest even the queen it took a couple of days but I have not had a problem since
