An art exhibition to raise funds for Juling Pongkanmoon is being held in Bangkok

The paintings of Juling Pongkanmoon (จูหลิง ปงกันมูล), a victim of the southern violence, are being displayed at an art gallery in Bangkok to raise funds for her family.

Ms. Juling, a teacher of Ban Kujingreupa (กูจิงรือปะ) School in Narathiwat’s Ra Ngae (ระแงะ) district, was taken hostage by a group of villagers and was later beaten up. She has been given medical treatment since May 19 and is now still in serious condition.

Privy Councillor Surayud Chulanont (สุรยุทธ์ จุลานนท์) said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition yesterday that Ms. Juling deserved praises for sacrificing and devoting herself for education in the deep south.

The exhibition is held from June 4 to 18 at Her Majesty the Queen’s Art Gallery on Ratchadamnoen avenue.
