PATTAYA: -- A Vietnamese Flower Seller and a 17 year old boy were injured as two rival motorbike gangs collided outside of a South Pattaya Barbeque Restaurant on Pattaya 3rd Road in the early hours of Saturday.

Police were called to the front of the restaurant where medics attended to the 17 year old boy, who had been shot in his left leg and Miss Nguyen Thi Ngan aged 29 from Vietnam, a flower seller, who sustained two serious gunshot wounds to her lower back.

It is believed the incident began outside of the Chaimongkol Temple on the South Pattaya Road where a group of motorbike taxi drivers stationed there encountered a rival group from Pattaya Third Road, who are normally stationed outside of the Barbeque Restaurant where the shooting took place.

One of the drivers was struck over the back of the head with the butt of a gun during the encounter, but the attacker dropped the gun and then ran off to Pattaya Third Road when a member of the opposing group took control of the weapon.

" Miss Nguyen Thi Ngan aged 29 from Vietnam, a flower seller,"

so flower selling is not a reserved occupation in Thailand, obviously.

Seems like every Thai has a gun too! Good old cops do their job well don't they?

Unless a white person tries to do it.

Motorcycle taxi gangs seems like a proper description for those low life scum drivers on almost every corner of Pattaya. I wonder how many of the gang members are also volunteer police and informants.

It is good to know that the new Pattaya police chief has tight control over violent crime and weapons.

If the police dont catch the motorbike gangs that were doing the shooting

at least they can nick the lady selling roses as she proberly does not have a work permit.

Such a shame if its the lady I have seen so many times, very pleasant, lovely smile.

I never bought flowers from her but she works very hard, get well soon, its such a shame you can't get about your own business without being caught up in someone else's idiotic fracas.
