I'm looking to get a Hepatitis B and possibly A vaccination done. Have heard there's a Thai Red Cross hospital near Lumpini (Sala Daeng) however was wondering if anyone had had one done, where they had it done and how much it cost? Is there anywhere I can get it done for free or at low cost? :)

Just had mine done at Paolo Hospital. This is a cheap hospital and its still cost me a bunch. Mostly because of the cost of the shot. Hospital service was cheap. 3 shots. About 1,500B each.

Where is Paolo Hospital? And if you don't mind me asking what shots did you have and how did you get an appointment? :)

Near Saphan Kwai BTS station. My shots were Hep A & B combined. Didn't need an appointment. If you've never been there before, you have to go and register, anyway. Not much English spoken there. Talk slowly.

Thanks scoutman. Im actually looking to get the Hep shots as I want a tattoo doing. So Hep A and B combined is 1500 total or 1500 for Hep A and 1500 for Hep B so 3000?

Farang1979, You might want to check out the Thai Travel Clinic (http://www.thaitravelclinic.com/) at Mahidol University. I've used them before and they are very competent. Here is a link to their price list: http://www.thaitravelclinic.com/cost.html

David, thanks very much! Funnily enough I had seen that price list but didn't realise it was in Bangkok. That's exactly what I'm looking for an it seems they can do Hep A & B at a reasonable price which is good. Had a quick look on Google Maps however the BTS Station is in Thai. Did you go there by BTS and, if so, which station was it? I can see it's near Phaya Thai (sp?) so I'm guessing that's also the station name?

howerde, you are correct. Depending on the vaccine, it could be 2 to 4 injections.

Here is a link to a pdf file that breaks it down. http://www.immunize.org/catg.d/p2081.pdf

The doses in Thailand are not cheap by local standards but are very cheap compared to the US (which is the one I am familiar with)
