Yes I thought it had a balanced perspective.


It was interesting hear the distain of the British Tommies interviewed had towards their senior officers and High Command at the time.


Basically then, if the British High Command had taken more seriously the efficiency, determination and resolve of the Japanese to capture Singapore, they could have prepared and trained our regiments accordingly.

That may have halted the embarrassing and unforgivable ease in which Singapore was captured and the ensuing slaughter of allied POW's who then constructed the Death Railway.


I can imagine the pomposity of those High Command chaps, sipping slings in Raffles and dismissing outright the outrageous notion of the Japanese taking Singapore..."Absolute piffle and Humbug old Bean!"
