90 day reporting / end of work permit - required ?

Featured Replies

My 90-day report is due on the 11th April, and my work permit finishes on the 28th April. I leave Thailand the day after for a short holiday in the Maldives to return ( hopefully ) on a 30-day tourist visa. My multiple re-entry visa expires on the 1st May. incidentally.

My current employer assures me that the reporting process will not be necessary this time - I am not convinced and do not want to be faced with a fine/problems when I exit the country. Any advice much appreciated.

My new job in Jakarta starts mid-August so I intend to do 3 * 30 day tourist visas back-to-back. I already have all the flights booked - each trip outside of Thailand will be 3-5 days. Can I expect any problems from immigration ? I've worked here 6 years, paid my taxes, Royal Thai Police clearance document, etc.

Many Thanks in Advance

Be aware that your extension of stay becomes invalid on the day the job finishes. A 7 day "extension" is available from immigration for 1900 Bht.

If still Thailand on April 11th 90 day report should be done

You need to make a 90 day report, as you are 90 days in the country.

I suggest you get a double-entry tourist visa, for example from the Thai consulate in Vientiane or Savannakhet. This will keep you going until August.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Many thanks for the valuable info - totally contrary to what I have been told by the HR manager ! The 90-day report - can I do this at any immigration office as I am away from BKK now?

My flight is actually on the 30th - guess all I can do now is pay 2 days overstay 80(

If you are really worried just mail the necessary paperwork to CW per the instructions on the Immigration web site.

As said, you can mal it but might take long time to get it back.

With some proof of address, such as hotel bill you might be able to do it at the immigration office for your current area.

Thanks Mario - think I will take your advice. I own a condo in Sri Racha so proof of address ( chanote, utility bills, etc. ) NP. It's a 5Km trip vs. a 110Km trip back to BKK.

As for the 7-day extension, I have one final week in work 21st-25th. so maybe let our HR lady deal with this!

Cheers and thanks once again for everybody's help.
