Hail storm in Chiang Rai and damages. Who pay?

Featured Replies

Depends.

In some districts the local authority will give free, any roof tiles that have been damaged or destroyed during a storm. They only provide the basic cheapo grey coloured tiles, they will not replace the equivalent quality of the tiles that were lost, plus may not be responsible for fitting them.

Regarding the laptop; that is the responsibility of the laptop owner. If not insured than it is either a repair or a replacement job by it`s owner.

Make inquiries with the head man of the village or the local authority to see if they are dishing out free replacement roof tiles lost in the storm damage?

this is pretty spot on according to my wife and she agrees that they will give the cheapies as they usually pocket half the money given to them by the govtw00t.gif ,with the laptop, it is the responsibility of the renter as this is an act of god and not due to poor workmanship or lack of upkeep by the owners unless the renter has their own insurance. Hope you can get ot sorted succesfully.

Closing the topic.....

Today our Amphur office send people to look at the damages and we are getting more than 30000THB in material to replace our roof....and the student's laptop was repaired properly.

Labor help is free only for low income owner occupied properties......not for people retired from the US.

Not good for my pocket...but good for my ego. I found out that here I belongs to the middle-high class.....

Anyway...our monk will come to bless our new roof,,,,no distinctions.

Thank you Thailand.

Act of God; he pays

Dont you mean act of Buddha.

1. NO

2. YES

The roof will be paid by the owner. The laptop by you.
