Greetings,

Can anyone advice on where is best to experience Songkhran in Bangkok?

I have 2 friends (girls) from the Netherlands flying in tomorrow and wanted me to take them to it.

Though I live in Bangkok my experiences for Songkhran were in Chiangmai and Nongkhai for the last 6 years thus this would be my first in Bangkok, too.

Btw, we are not going to do it at Khao San for sure.

Any advice duly appreciated. Thanks!

Try Silom road, saladaeng or plaza in front of central world at ratchaprasong

All three will be packed with water throwers

Thanks mate! Btw, is it advisable to drive? Sorry, I should have included this question in my posting :)

Hi mate it's my first Songkran here too and have asked the same question. If you don't want to go to Khao San from speaking to Thais Silom is another place to go. Not sure about the driving situation but the city streets will be very crowded so probably best not to :)

No, if you drive they'll miss being targeted in the breast and crotch areas and miss being groped and poked.
