Thais ranked as fourth heaviest drinkers in the world

Any excess consumption of a drug should not be something to be proud of, especially if it ranks highly on the harmfulness scale. Competition of drug consumption, such as playing drinking games or "drinking other friends under the table" should not be condoned and should be eradicated out of social culture. Instead, moderation of consumption should be encouraged, with education of all facts about the drug, including the recommended dosage range, recommended maximum frequency of consumption, effects, risks, and what to do in case of problems that arise from consumption of the drug, whether it be ethanol (drinking alcohol), cannabis, MDMA ("ecstasy"), psilocybin mushrooms, mescaline or LSD.

Some of the illegal drugs should be legalized so that much less harmful and more enjoyable and insightful drugs can be made available. At the moment alcohol has a worldwide monopoly as the accepted legal recreational party drug, which is not ideal as it is ranks highly in harmfulness and is nowhere near as enjoyable as other drugs.

Who make this statistics?

No alcoholic must make a report to someone

When drinking a beer

, and only analysis based on total sales are also wrong it forged the results, because more then 30 Procent are tourists or expats drinking beer and alc and not only Thais!

Other nations have less tourists then Thailand for example the Philippine

Only 5 million a year here I could belive that statistics reflect the reality!

But in Thailand it forged the result because Falangs drinking also beer!

I am a non alcoholic , I drink only milk water and tea, some coffee, so Iam not part of this statistics!

The People That make the statistics

Always make the same fatal system failure, if the results are based on a public opinion poll, the people that make the statistic never told us under what measurements the statistic has been made, and in a poll , the public often never get a result!

What happen with the peoples poll data , will be sold to a data collecting company for many cash!

My opinion ,

This is not accurate. Number one is Moldova. They do drink. In the country people make tons of wine just for one family of 4 to 10. No nation can over drink them.

According to the link Thailand is ranked as number 77, but not near to 4. Bad report indeed. Ukraine is classed as number 4!

Didn't Euromonitor come with more bullock reports before? In Korea they drink but they are angels compared with Scandinavians, Poland, Spain etc. Waste of time these 'statistics'. (but Thais indeed drink more as years go by. What else to do when your democratic rights get raped on an average 8 years).
