UK Settlement visa falls to be refused as no bank statements have been submitted showing that this amount has been held for at least 6 months prior to the date of application.

Application was submitted 4 April 2014

Refusal notice dated 7 April 2014

But received by email on 17 April 2014

The refusal states I have 3 weeks from the date of this notification to submit further documents. However I have lost 10 days as their email did not arrive until 17 April 2014.

I have asked my bank (17 April) to send over more copies of the relevant savings statements but with the Easter break etc. I cannot see me meeting this 3-week deadline to 27 April.

Would any discretion be allowed here due to holidays?

I submitted:

I sent my personal savings summary that provides:

I think this was my mistake this summary I suppose in the UKVI eyes is not a statement.

A list of the savings account(s) I hold

The account number(s)

Balance(s) as at statement date

from my bank dated October 2013.

I also send a statement from my bank dated 26 March 2013 for each of the accounts from my personal savings summary (above).

I also submitted a letter from my bank manager, this showed my total savings but it not state, savings held for 6 months.

I thought UKVI would see the amount held from October, see the amounts held in March which I thought would prove savings being held for 6 months but UKVI stated Not Met in the refusal.

Last point.

The refusal states that a decision is now on hold until the result of the income threshold appeal is known.

Our daughter is starting school in September. So I need to get her settled into the UK by late July so I dont think I can await this court decision.

Would I be wiser to bite the bullet and submit a new application?

My Bank Lloyds printed my statements in less than a day. i had to pay but i got them, bottom line it states original documents should be submitted. why would a Bank manager take the time to write a letter when printing them would be quicker.

Can you not print them off from the internet? These may be acceptable - see previous topic about this.

I would do just that to ensure that you meet the deadline, but I would include a covering note advising the ECO that you have requested originals from the UK, which you will forward on receipt.

One the whole ECO's understand the practicalities of getting providing the evidence required.

I certainly wouldn't be forking out for a new application until you have tried.

I started a thread concerning online statements a few weeks ago, and it's just occurred to me I never posted an update - apologieswai2.gif

The online statements I submitted were accepted. They included my name, account number, branch address and the bank's logo. In my sponsor's letter I mentioned they were printed online, and that given my location I couldn't get them stamped.

I also emailed the bank and received confirmation the statements were acceptable for legal purposes. I intended including their verification email with our supporting documents, but forgot to. Thankfully the Clearance Officer still accepted them. Based on a few PM's I received this seems to be pretty standard in Bangkok.
