CAPO director fears bloodshed if court terminates PM

BANGKOK, 22 April 2014 (NNT) – The Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) is worried that there would be bloodshed if Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, along with her cabinet, is forced to step down.

Labor Minister Pol Capt Chalerm Yoobamrung, who is also the CAPO director, expressed his fears that violence could break out if the premier was found guilty of her charges regarding the unfair transfer of former National Security Council (NSC) chief Thawin Pliensri and corruption in the government’s rice pledging scheme.

Mr. Chalerm added that PM Yingluck and her cabinet must remain in power until the new government takes office.

Therefore, the CAPO director has warned both the Charter Court and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to be impartial and think about the consequences.

As for a statement issued last week, Mr. Chalerm apologized to the air force for not letting it know in advance that the statement was going to be made, giving a reason that the armed forces were also present at last week’s meeting.

He then gave an assurance that the armed forces would be notified of future statements.

Why not apologize to the Constitutional Court ? Why not apologize to the National Anti-Corruption Commission ? You do not address the courts that way. Such an act by CAPO was a gross overstep into judicial authority. Chalerm - fresh from a sojourn to Hong Kong - still doesn't get it. Which means that Thaksin still doesn't get it. And today's " clarification " is simply a reiteration of those outrageous comments. These remarks are meant to intimidate. Period.

being impartial and considering violence from biased factions are mutually exclusive. You can't have both.

Only in 3rd World, Banana Republics, do the politicians have to let the military know in advance what statements the government is going to make, and get their approval.

Apparently their function is to threaten violence, not prevent it.

A big threat yet again from Mr. Chalerm as a mouthpiece of Mr. T. coffee1.gif

Shouldn't this read Chalerm will incite bloodshed if court terminates dear poo

Seems to me that the obvious solution, for the good of the country, is for Yingluck to resign before the NACC/Constitutional Courts judgements.

Then they will be able to make judgement without considering a violent reaction.

The Drunken Headless Minister of Ear Medicine issues another implied threat.

You have been warned, Chalerm can now go ahead and manipulate some good old violence with a clear conscious and as usual able to place the blame elsewhere.

Simple answer to this . . . Thaksin/PT/UDD/CAPO all need to denounce the red shits committing this violence and prosecute those doing so. Problem solved.

A self fulfilling prophecy?

Chalerm and his CAPO thugs do all they can to make that prophecy come true:

- Deny the Courts the authority to rule

- Refuse investigating all the murders done by the Redshirts and pro government killers (Trat, Rajaprasong etc)

- intimidating people not to make use of their constitutional right to protest and voice disagreement with the caretaker government

- allow the Red-Shirts Sturmtruppe to harass Court judges, ACC members

etc.

So according to Chalerm the courts and the NAAC should make decisions based on the consequences of the decisions and not the law.

He and his party will then arrange to jack up 'consequences' to suit every decision.

The red arm of PT have made it clear what they will do if the court and NAAC find against them regardless of the law, so the 'consequence' he refers to is already apparent.

As the boss of an organization that is supposed to be promoting peace and order he should be doing everything he can to ensure there are no 'consequences' so the independent bodies can make their decisions based on law without being subject to threats .and intimidation.

Instead what does he do ?

He is leading the threats and intimidation.

Is this decision planned to be made today out of curiosity?

Only in 3rd World, Banana Republics, do the politicians have to let the military know in advance what statements the government is going to make, and get their approval.

i think the problem is that Chalerm's initial statement said the military were on board with the support YL and the government message without asking them first.

Just another example of The Minister of Ear Medicine overstepping his authority.

So far for the past 2 months the only thing Chalerm has done for his salary is threaten and intimidate both the NACC and the CC.

What he most fears is that once this sad act of a government are finally toppled, he himself be in a very precarious situation involving the things he has gotten up to during the Thaksin reign and will probably face prison or exile.

I'm sure that caretaker Dept. PM , MoFA and chief CAPO advisor Surapong will be able to explain this latest show of democracy to foreign envoys, diplomats, the UN an so.

Is this decision planned to be made today out of curiosity?

Not today. The Constitutional Court will decide tomorrow whether the grant a 15-day extension from last Thursday's deadline as requested by the defendant. They'll probably grant the extension, so won't be ready to judge until some time after 2 May.

I guess the NACC should be ready for its indictment by late this week or early next.

Right.

Not even Plodprasob could have administered a dose of dumbness quite so obviously and elegantly, as Chalerm administered a dose of his "peace-and-order" here.

If their is any blood shed KHun Chalerm , it will be on you and the cancerous PTP head , enough said , end of story.bah.gif

Hopefully yours, Chalerm, you sad excuse for a human being.

as the head of capo shouldnt he be telling his red shirt thugs that they are not to cause problems seeing these are the ones that will start the killing if they dont get what they want. It would apear that capo's idea of keeping the peace is telling everyone to do what they want or they will set the attack dogs onto them causing blood shed, this lot needs to be thrown in jail and the keys lost. What a pack of total crettins.

just get on with it already this saga is boring ! Months and months of threats, meetings, public announcements etc.....coffee1.gif

Only in 3rd World, Banana Republics, do the politicians have to let the military know in advance what statements the government is going to make, and get their approval.

Only in 3rd class banana brains is it possible to twist facts so much.

The government does not require miliary's approval, nor is the CAPO the government.

Besides that, their announcement was made with an implication that [the military] had agreed with this announcement, but that was not the case. You might call that implication a lie, or perhaps "an honest mistake"?

Why would they have to? The sentence

Therefore, the CAPO director has warned both the Charter Court and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to be impartial and think about the consequences

is not a quote from Chalerm but an inaccurate summation by the News Bureau.

Chalerms points were as follows

"Labor Minister Pol Capt Chalerm Yoobamrung, who is also the CAPO director, expressed his fears that violence could break out if the premier was found guilty of her charges regarding the unfair transfer of former National Security Council (NSC) chief Thawin Pliensri and corruption in the government’s rice pledging scheme.

End of quote from Chalerm. The rest is the News bureaus interpretation.

At least this time you're not alone in your comprehension problems, all the usual bleeding heart "democracy lovers" are all over this like a cheap suit. But hey, if that's what you want to hear, fill your boots.

You don't seriously believe that Chalerm has a conscience do you?

The quote was from the news bureau also, Chalerm didn't actually say that verbatim either. I't seems the whole article was a summation.

i'm uncertain how you can say with authority which parts are accurate and which parts are not.

I think we need to find out what Chalerm actually said.
