Car Sale When UK Owner Overseas?

I'm in the process of selling my truck but I haven't yet found a buyer, no problem, I can wait.

But I probably wont be here when a buyer is found because I'm leaving for the UK in three days time.

So, how best to handle an absente sale?

My lawyer wants 10k for a power of attorney, alternatively,

Thai friends tell me that DMV has a proxy form for this purpose.

Bet way forward?

I would say its a matter of trust, if you can authorise a 3rd party, lawyer or not, do you trust them to pass on the full funds at the appropriate time ?

Only you can answer that one, and if you are not going to be here, I guess you will have to trust someone and have no choice in that, or delay your departure until its concluded.
