Opposition no-show hinders Thai election talks

Going by Marks F/Book note , the EC could not guarantee safety , so after some discussion with security it was decided to pull out of the talks, this being the issue and straight from Abhisit , the EC must lift its game, if it can not guarantee safety, after calling for all parties to be present, why call a meeting.bah.gif

"I will not attend the meeting because of security,"

A principle of democracy is "equal protection under the law" though the "1 principle party" do not adhere to that principle. The PDRC are like lambs to a slaughter with daily attacks offered by opposition that act with impunity due to the political persuasion of the police force. When the red shirts stated 2 days ago they will hunt down Somchai from the EC and actually threw rotten fish, eggs and even human excreta at the van he was in then one can understand the Right Honorable Ahbisits concerns. Do you know what happened to the people that broke the law by throwing eggs, fish and excreta at the van? Do you know what the police did to persuade others that this action is not tolerated. Nothing. Zero. Zilch. So when Ahbisit offers a concern for safety then by all means it is true. He is hated by the one principle supporters more than Somchai. The hero's of democracy usually are hated by one principle supporters. They fear them and being inarticulate will resort to violence as they are unable to communicate their concerns.

People denounce him for telling the truth, for fearing for his safety because of a one sided police force. I think they crave blood. They cheer terrorist attacks so we already know their lust for the red stuff.

Yet they stay silent when two liars are scared to attend the criminal court to hear if their bail was revoked when Jatuporn's and Nattwutt's lawyer Winyat Chartmontree said both his clients were "sick". When there bail was nbot revoked they miraculously got better and thanked the courts. What would happen if their bail was revoked. One can be assured the two accused terrorists would now be on the run. One would be the deputy commerce minister setting the example that if held accountable then run away like thaksin.

Ahbisit tells the truth and fears for his life. Denounced. Two accused terrorists are in hiding until a court case goes their way. They are the good guys?

That is PTP logic right there.

Do you still believe that eggs rotten fish and human excreta was thrown at a van? Any reports in other papers / media? Oh and by the way Somchai wasn't at Lamphung, it was the Chairman of the EC. So if you can't even get that right what point is there in reading the rest of your hyperbolic rant?

By Heck! What is this guy useful for, anything?

About all he's useful for is providing a textbook definition of a coward.

The puppetmasters told him not to go so he didn't go. He doesn't have the balls to stand up.

I would tend to agree but casting doubts on anyone else's courage is a bit rich coming from a Thaksin supporter!

According to the democrat party spokesman, chavanond whistling.gif .

Conveniently enough after this alleged suicide bomb threat, chavanond asked the PTP how could the dems possibly take part in an election when there were still safety worries whistling.gifwhistling.gif

Abhisit is an incompetent coward that is the leader of the worst political opposition party in Thailands history.

The sooner this loser leaves politics for good, the better for Thai democracy.

Nice idea, but you got the name wrong, as usual. It's Taksin who's the craven one. After all Abhisit is still here, and Taksin is.... where?

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Travelling around the world and abhisit is where? Not at a meeting to discuss the election despite having insisted that the PTP show up.......................

He doesn't attend, he doesn't show up - He should out! That's it, he's out. He doesn't care to support the electoral process in his country - he is out. He's a no show, he forfeits. He's gone. Proceed without him.

Not sure which 50 other parties were present, but it seems a perception and deception case with the E.C. showing bias in helping Pheu Thai set it up.

50 parties sounds nice to people in the West, but looking more closely most of those 50 parties probably represent about as many people. Only 11 or so parties won seats in the 2011 elections with some just 1 or 2. The rest has (very) local presence only.

Still, as I indicated, a showcase of perception and deception. Abhisit could have had a very uncomfortable time during those talks ans easily be put on the defensive for what would be none-issues to those who understand the thai situation.

All the red boys out attacking Abhisit following their hymn sheets.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Point is Ruby it dosnt matter what a partys beliefs or bias is, if they are wishing to take part they do what they are supposed to do and show up.

So what if Mark could have had an uncomfortable time, politicians should be more than capable of dealing with being uncomfortable or should be by the very nature of their job and it is a lame excuse to call security as an issue, he could have just arrived with Issara and his thugs.

It it clear the democrats are taking their direction from another party who wish to derail this election the same as the last.... now I wonder who that might be ? whistling.gif

There is not really any excuse to avoid yet another election the security issue is about as weak as it gets....

7mths down the line there are no excuses to avoid an election..........Guys a waste of space and a puppet, if he loved and believed in his country or party he would have attended and would run in an election. Any other excuse is just all BS, move over and get out of the way for partys who will.

He's technically Thai. His parents were in the UK when he was born but all that does is give him dual nationality. It happens to a lot of people. Military personnel, diplomatic staff, people on long contracts out of the country who take their wives with them. He is of Chinese decent but then again so are a lot of Thais, particularly those who are rich and have good positions here. It's the same for the Shinawatras.

Abhisit has been baiting (trolling) the PTP for months; accusing them of not wanting to negotiate with the EC. Now the pressure got to the PTP and they agreed to attend, Abhisit backs out at the last moment on some flimsy excuse. He's making them crazy. Time does not favor the PTP but is the best weapon of the anti-government forces, so, Abhisit, again, throws a monkey wrench in the works. This struggle for control of Thailand, for whatever reasons, is being fought, on both sides, 'by any means necessary' to quote Malcolm X.

Defend accused terrorists and ignore terrorist threats as imaginary. Wonderful.

Not only is it PTP logic it is a very very dangerous ethos that the fanatical supporters of the UDD seem to be embracing. A love for terrorism while denouncing anyone that wants reform, 15 principles of democracy and non violence. The lust for the red stuff is very strong in some. The excuses come thick and fast when a terrorist threat is made. I pity those that can defend that.

A perfect example of perception and deception.

Possible headlines:

"In a discussion organized by the E.C. more than 50 political parties requested a general election to be held as soon as possible."

or

"50 small political parties of no consequence in general elections have assured Pheu Thai to endorse a Pheu Thai caretaker Cabinet Minister as PM when he would be selected by them."

Newsflash - newsflash - newsflash

On condition of anonymity did a source within the PM Office tell us that his cousin would really have liked to join the Fab4 elections, but was held back by yellow fascists of the Bangkok Elite. Rumours that k. Abhisit had contacted k. Jatuporn to ask for a red-shirt guard squad for protection could not be confirmed.

Tongue-in-cheeky

There is a lot of emotional, hate-filled responses to this. Now, I realize my bias is more towards the Democrats because I think the PTP are a recipe to ruin the country. However, that doesn't mean that I need to feel towards the PTP the same way that many here seem to feel. Why is it necessary to spew such hate. You can say you don't believe there was a credible threat against Abhisit's life. Okay. Even better if you could present proof that it was faked. You can disagree with their policies (what we know about them). Even get angry that they are so stupid they cannot agree with your opinions and ideas. I know I get angry and upset when I read about another bombing, another shooting, excrement throwing, intimidation of business owners because they were going to let a yellow (or red) shirt supporter sing, beating up anyone, especially a monk, burning buildings, and just violence in general. Chill a little and get some perspective. Thais on both sides of the divide should chill too.
