New australian vfs

Featured Replies

Today went and dropped off our police clearance certificate at the new oz vfs at sukhumvit and was pleasantly surprised.Heard a lot of negative stories about the Trendy building but it was quite easy.No wait for lifts, walked up to counter and got our ticket, went through metal detectors and sat and waited for about 15 minutes for our number to be called. All pretty straight forward. This was 2.00pm

woody ... first question ... are the UK and Australian operations by VFS combined?

Meaning, do we go to the same office ... us and the soap dodgers?

Great OP BTW ... thumbsup.gif

Yes the same. They have about 25 counters the first 10 are for Australia, the rest UK.They aren't partitioned off or anything but seating is seperated. That is the australians sit in front of their counters and the english in front of theirs.Same deal as the old one,you are given a ticket number when you go in,and you just sit and wait till its called. They were getting through them pretty quick.Seemed to be pretty organized.Something unusual for Thailand.

We did go in the afternoon though, remember reading something on here about it being the best time. There also was a few people milling around the lifts in the corridor, don't know why, there seemed to be plenty of seating inside and a nice sports bar downstairs.

Any chance you could provide the address of this new VFS?

From David48's OP in this earlier topic:-

The Australian Visa Application Centre is moving

on the 21 April 2014

to

The Trendy Office building

28th floor

Sukhumvit Soi 13

Ignore the boat building reference on the Map

was the best image I could nick from the web.

^^ thanks! I didn't know it had moved, but then again I don't have need to go there every year... and if I hadn't have read this thread I would have ended up at the old building when I needed to go again.,

Is the Australian Embassy still in same place?biggrin.png I need to go there soon.

It sure is ... was there recently.

Funnily enough, closed for Good Friday but not closed today for ANZAC Day ... blink.png

Hey Woody

Is Nana BTS the closest station to the new building? if so how long does it take to walk there from Nana BTS?

Just wanting to add one tip.

There are far more UK applicants then Aussie ones.

When you exit the lift there is a counter deck, a 'reception' for want of a better term.

The queue awaiting tailed outside the office and down the corridor.

A little argy bargy (polite positioning) revealed that the reception desk is actually divided into, on the left, the UK and on the right, the Aussies. There was no-one waiting on the Aussie side ... w00t.gif

We got our ticket straight away and than as Woody describes above.

So, when you exit the lift and enter the office, tend to the right and the 'Australian' side.
