Can't get my Galaxy S3 (Unlocked, AT&T) to connect to True-H internet

Featured Replies

I've finally got to ask for help before my BP goes too high! w00t.gif

I just received this phone from my daughter: USA model Galaxy S3 i747 4G AT&T Unlocked Smartphone. Bought a True-H internet sim and have been struggling to get the #%!@* to connect to the internet since last night. Exasperating! Please give me a hand, guys.

I've created the following two APCs in Mobile Networks>Access Point Names per True's instructions:

APN: TRUE-H internet

APN: internet

Username: true

Password: true

MCC: 520

MNC: 00

APN Type: Internet

and

Name: TRUE-H MMS

APN: hmms

Username: true

Password: true

MMSC: http://mms.trueh.com:8002/

MMS Port: 8080

MCC: 520

MNC: 00

APN type: mms

MMS messaging works fine, but for internet attempts I receive:

"No network connection"

"No signal found for mobile networks"

In "settings", I've set Wi-Fi off, enabled Mobile data and Data roaming, 'Bearer' unspecified.

Greatly appreciated!

Maybe fiddle with the APN type: default, supl

works for me with my unlocked AT&T Captivate. Your i747 supports 3G/850 MHz (and 2100 MHz) so should work fine with TrueMove H, DTAC and AIS.

Always remember to save the APN, then restart the phone, then select that APN.

Assume you have an active SIM with a data plan? And coverage?

Oh man do I owe you a cold one lomatopo! Or 3! Setting APN Type to default, supl did the trick!

FYI, this phone might work with TrueMove H 4G/LTE (2100 MHz), but that may require a new/different/special SIM, an LTE-capable post-paid data plan, and a new/different APN.

Evidently it does. I see a lovely looking "4G" displayed!

Meh. Unless you've specifically subscribed to a TrueMove H LTE plan, have a specific SIM, have configured an APN for LTE, that's just your AT&T baseband misinterpreting the signal(s), and giving you a lovely looking 4G symbol.

Ok, I'll need to determine what plan I am on. Dtr in law bought the sim. Thanks for making me aware.

Evidently it does. I see a lovely looking "4G" displayed!

On I747 it'll show 4G when on 3G+. Can't recall the correct terminology. If on LTE, it shows an LTE next to the 4G, slightly below or above. It's basically the graphic used in the sequence, and there's no 3G. Changes slightly depending on which OS update it is running.
