Western racism/discrimination in the news..what would happen in Thailand ?

Today on the news there have been reports about the comments made by LA Clippers boss Sterling on the phone to a woman. These comments were very degrading towards black people.

Many people in the USA are angry because of his statements. A.o Magic Johnson a former NBA player

He is now being forced to sell his NBA basketball team.

Also this weekend a Barcelona footballplayer, Alves, who is a coloured Brazilian, whilst taking a corner, had a banana thrown at him. Which he picked up and ate btw. The thrower of that banana has been identified and got a life stadiumban to watch his footballteam, Villareal.

In my opinion any form of racism or dicrimination is wrong. I have read an ad on the teachersforum where a poster searched for a teacher but he had to, instructions from the school, mention that africans or indians not needed to apply.

My question.....is discrimination or racism really existent in Thailand according to you and how would thai people react to an example as stated above ?

I dont want to make this thread to turn into to wording/meaning of farang.

If people experienced racism/discrimination towards others, did they show their discontent to the 1 expressing it and if not, why, and if yes, how was the reaction from the 1 you adressed it to ?

In my opinion, if you are concerned about it here, you wouldnt interact with many as its pretty obvious how Thai people descriminate against anyone who isnt Thai in one way or another, particularly if the Thai holds any kind of official position.

Classic and typical example of such would be dual pricing, we have also read many stories here of descrimination usually fuelled by greed ( bribes) etc.

Its wrong, everyone non Thai knows it, but dont expect any changes anytime soon.
