ll2
So, round 2 of the racing academy and track day at BIRA is coming. It will be held on 10th - 11th of May and again they said there will be a good attendance. Trainers are the same so do the track buddies. I will be at Graham's group as usual. But normally they put us on beginner course but it looks like we will do the intermediate course this time. Dont know why. Honda bigwing will have special extra track session for honda owners. Lucky i am again with the correct brand! Last time got extra track time for owning a Dainese suit! Getting a rearset from rsv racing this week. Thinking on getting pirelli rosso corsas or supercorsas with my 15 percent discount coupon but might burn the stocks this time too and get them on next track day. Love to get a pipe until the track day but nothing around well designed at this moment. Waiting for the 'devil' to release their full system. Guys who is coming? Come and join man! It will be a lot of fun! Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app Edited May 6, 2014 by ll2
Gweiloman
Barring unforeseen circumstances, I will be there as well ll2. However, I need to change the tyres on my newly purchased ER but don't have a discount coupon? I will force them to give me the discount in any case as I have bought enough Pirellis from them for all my bikes

Hope you dont miss the power of your 1000 cc but er is better for trashing in the track! I am sure they will give you the discount. Actually, they called people or sent sms for that coupon but you were not around that days. It ll be good to see you as always man. Popular Post ll2
it was a nice track day again. sorry no photos this time as handed my bag to my gf during the days and no time to go around. But i am sure she took some photos so i will ask them from her today. It was really hot especially Saturday! Sunday was better. I was dripping sweat like a loose tap all the time During Saturday session, drank around 10 liters of water and many other liquid!!! I counted the bottles! Again same old track buddies there and made some new track buddies as well. Our ranks are growing there. Nice to see you and meet you all guys. You are great company. New rearset i bought helped a lot. A lot of ground clearance but this time stock tires showed their incompetency! Sliding all the time and killed all my confidence. Still i was better that last track day and keep building skills up but i need a lot more time. I am still slow around the corners but smooth at least! Tomorrow thinking on going to Nakhon Chai Si circuit not so far away to my home. Attended the 650 cc limited class race again. There were around 20 racers and i finished 14th or 15th i guess - of course two bikes crashed so that is why 14th - 15th. With better tires like pirelli supercorsas, a good Ohlins rear shock and a pipe that can decrease the wight 5 kgs down and give me spirits by sound!, i am sure i can do better. And this 650 cc race, the riders and their bikes was a lot faster than the last one i attended. Next time will go for Beginner class race. Also, played with stock rear shock a bit before the track day but i think i made it a lot firm. Need to make it softer. Thinking on getting the Ohlins rear shock for 19 k thb as i am getting smoother and better but then you start to feel the stock rear shock and other shitty components in a bad way! For the next track day, want to buy an old van Toyota Hiace or Nissan Urvan so going track days and carrying tires and stuff will be easier. Dont want to buy supercorsas for 15 k and waste them on the roads of Bangkok and let them get burned within 2000 kms so want to use the same set only for track days so a vehicle is needed for me. Of course i will still ride my bike to track from Bangkok and my gf possibly drives the van or maybe a driver. I dont like carrying bikes. They are for riding and road to Pattaya after Chon Buri is a fast road which i like. Again lots of accidents but all riders just walked away. BIRA track is safe. Man, great bikes again there. Really tempted to get a track only bike and modify it to the moon but at this stage, i am still learning so a more powerful bike will just make it harder to learn and make me slower i am sure. Lots of BMW s1000rr s again. They are getting more each track day. A great bike really. Not many stands this time as it was really really hot! But Yamaha stand was there and finally tested Yamaha mt 09. What a blast man! Really nice bike to ride but suspensions are a lot soft, softer that cbr650f really and it does not feel like a 190 kg bike, feel like a bit heavier maybe bc it is higher. Still, a good bike to ride around paddock and sure in a big city liker Bangkok. No ABS though. Also, Bigwing was there and lots of honda cbr650f and cbr1000rr riders. They had a special area with food and drinks. They of course wanted me to be with them but promised my buddies before so kindly refused. Of course got my drinks and Honda towel for my sweaty face:) Nice guys these Honda guys. They got a special track session as well and had a chance to join them too as extra but was too hot and did not want to deplete my energy on two track session back to back and focused on one only. Next track day will be in August as rainy season is coming. We are so lucky not having any rain this track day as it was all cloudy and actually it rained during the night but mornings was dry. Besides, i think they announced - in Thai - a track day soon in Chiang Rai if i dont get it wrong. Overall, thanks for Pirelli and Superbike magazine and whoever contributed to these organizations again for arranging these events. They are really helpful for track newbies like me and many others and they are a lot fun. A bike porn fest! They said, after rainy season, they might do track days every month or every one and a half month which is good news! Go on guys! LWM
It was a great week-end. I have some video that I will try and make into a clip ... to post later ... Those guys in the 650cc class race were fast ... they are actually quite good ... Graham our instructor passed me like I was standing still ... I had to check to see if the kick stand was down ... That said I did manage to get my knee down a couple of times, almost gave me a heart attack, so I am also improving. A lot of it has to do with consistency, sometimes I get a good corner here but then mess up the next corner ... it just takes time and practice. I also would like a bike with more power than the Green ER6F that I have, but as everyone knows ... the ER6F is cheap ... and you can beat it all day long ... Pirelli and Superbike magazine and any other who helped set up the track day did a good job ... thx

Enough torque and you guys sometime pull uch more easier than my inline four. It was a fun but hot day really. We are all improving there and i am sure a couple of more track days, we will not hesitate in the corners Also a couple of us might go to Nakhon Chai Si track in Bangkok for a weekend. That track is open during weekends and we can practice more all day long! What do you think?

Popular Post ll2
guys, photos of this track day. 800 photos. This time i am lucky i guess, seen 6 photos of mine. Last time, it was only one! I am still having difficulties of convincing myself on throwing my head to the corner. After 25 years of defensive riding with a major aim of not killing myself, it takes time to break the concrete like defensive riding from my head on the track! things take time but still a lot of fun! https://www.facebook.com/SuperBikeMagazineTH Edited May 21, 2014 by ll2

Popular Post LWM
Video ... a sequel to the last track day ... 8 minutes long ... took me nearly 20 hours to edit ... the music and sound is a lot harder than you think ... music is all home made (sounds like it too) ... no copy right infringements ... I went down to the Triumph shop, Brit Bike, checked out the Daytona 675r ... the way those other 650cc bikes took off at the start ... the Kawasaki ER6F makes around 72 hp I believe ... the Yamaha R6 makes over 100 ... no wonder they got away so quick ... there that's my excuse ... Never mind that Graham Knight managed to lap me during the race ... he rides a Kawasaki ER6N ... same engine as mine ... me thinks he has made a pact with the devil to go so fast around the corners ... Enjoy ... Later
