Motorcycle on train to Pattaya

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if you can travel with your motorbike on the train from Hualampong station to Pattaya?

It is a third class train all i know so they might not have a cargo vagon. Just call thai railways and ask.

Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Depends on the size of the bike but if the train is not possible then post it - or put it on a bus

or just start the engine and ride it there ? facepalm.gif

That's what I want to do, it's a PCX 150, I know my way around the centre of Bangkok, but Google and Bing maps give you directions using the tollways where you cannot use motorbikes. Maybe some poster can give me an idea how to get there, say from Victory Monument.

The most straight forward way is to follow Sukhumvit rd and turn left at the Bangna trat rd (just after Sukhumvit soi 103/4) Yes, you can't go on the elevated expressway but you can ride under it all the way. Then just follow the signs, you can't miss it. (For Chonburi first and then Pattaya)

Once you hit the Bangna trat rd, on a PCX should take around 2 hours.

Thanks mate, Spoonman has given me a link to Google maps, and I have printed it out and it is just what you say. I arrive in Bangkok from Don Muang airport, and will follow the signs to Bang Na and take it from there.

You can take Ramkhamheng road to the 104 and then a nice route to Pattaya look it up on google maps. Last year road my Pcx into Bangkok from Pats following this route. You will go thru Minburi to pick up the 104 not a bad ride.

Easy to ride to pattaya from Bangkok but the road construction at bang na - trat road makes it harder nowadays.

on a pcx you will be fine ,just cruise and you be there before you know it

stay out of the centre lanes though ,its ok on a faster bike even though its not "legal" :D

just stick to the frontage road and watch out for big holes .........

The 104 route is a it longer took me about 4 hours but very nice after i got off Sukhumvit in Chonburi

If you can find Sukumvit (Rt 3) it runs from BKK--> Pattaya (& beyond).

Lots of traffic and lights, so allow 4-5 hrs.

Thanks, I have printed out a map without the tollways. I will be riding down past Don Muang.
