soalbundy
If he broke the law, he must go to jail regardless what prize he won. And if the story is true? Correct me if i am wrong but i believe that in this enlightened state you can be charged with defamation even if you tell the truth Edited May 13, 2014 by soalbundy

aussieinthailand
I was just wondering, Will the BBC also be summonsed to court for showing a documentary on this very subject in Thailand? or just the reporters?
jpeg
If he broke the law, he must go to jail regardless what prize he won. Let's take it to the International Court of Justice in The Hague as it involves citizens of another country? I very much doubt this poster knows of an International Court or where The Hague is

bigbamboo
I'm sure it's been said before but... “When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudice, and motivated by pride and vanity” I saw that episode of Star Trek too. richard10365
If you're going to write something in the international press, it had better be 100% true. Freedom of the press has boundaries. Journalist need to write with integrity and facts. Publishing hearsay stories in countries like Thailand does not help press freedom. If the Navy is pressing charges, they are not afraid of bringing this story out in public. This is an indication they are not afraid of the facts and the writers of the article better have proof. Okay..... So, when they get hold of a load of Rohingya and they say that the navy got paid to traffic them. What are we going to do then. Beyond that, the UsA concludes in its upcoming report that the Thai authorities are complicit in trafficking, what to do?
