:o So true. I need to take that with me the next time I fly. It's the biggest fear I have in life !

Silly really, but f.o.f is real.

Have been doing much better lately though.

One of the airlines runs a series of classes for people who have a fear of flying (BA, I think). Most of the classes are on the ground and the 'graduation' is in the air. On one particular graduation flight the plane lost an engine and had to make an emergency landing. Needless to say, the class had all their fears fortified.

My wife has a fear of flying....which she developed when flying in my hot air balloon. The burner 'froze' open and we went up to 15,000 feet. The heat even melted some of my guiding lines inside the balloon.

Now she is even afraid of planes...but, with a half a Valium she will fly. In a couple of weeks we have to fly from BKK to London.

Have a few drinks I'm quite positive that will settle things down and get in your head you are pretty much history if smth does go wrong once the plane is in the air, so what is the point of worrying?

Nothing to worry about.Look at it this way;Do you think the pilots and cabin crew want to die either?
