BANGKOK — A bus driver has been arrested for driving while high on amphetamines through morning rush hour in Bangkok, police say.

According to reports from Bukkhalo Police Station, a Number 75 Bus was seen swerving dangerously as it descended Krungthep Bridge at around 8:20 a.m. this morning. The traffic police quickly stopped the vehicle and questioned the driver, who was identified as Washara Meeprom, 23.

Mr. Washara later tested positive for having narcotic substances in his system, and eventually confessed to taking amphetamines right before his shift began.

Mr. Washara is currently being detained at Bukkhalo Police Station for further prosecution, police say.

Even if he were innocent, he should be banged up for that hair!

After a 500B fine, he will be back behind the wheel before the original drugs are out of his system. TIT.

I hope the unicorn that was dancing on the bridge is unhurt.

What was ' higher '' him or his hair ?

I think he's safe. I saw him on the way back home just now.

The unicorn or the bus driver? giggle.gifw00t.gif

Lock him up; then, fine the company and test every other driver.

Yup. 1 down, 66 million to go. tongue.png

Both, the bus driver was doing the Cha Cha.

At least he got out of his 16 hour shift, every cloud.

By the time the police are through with him, it'll be 66 million and one again.

Mr Washara will later testify,he was drunk the night before, therefore needed the drugs to 'get him going', resulting in a 500b fine.

How can a bus company give this guy a job as a driver, I mean, look at the kid, it's not that difficult to see he's a yaabaa head....absolutely disgraceful.

This is a good preventive bust by Thai police. This should give warning that bus operators should be drug tested periodically and lose their jobs and pensions if in violation.

500b fine and will be able to drive again within a couple of weeks, if not sooner.

I've lost count of the number of times I've ridden on BKK baht buses where the driver was driving like he was at the race track. They were swerving in and out at breakneck speeds so bad that the passengers had to hang on for dear life.

1 bullet chinese style for this criminal and the world will be better.

Even if someone finds your 'final solution' slightly tempting, who knows how many innocent people died during Thaksin's war on drugs? At that time it was pretty easy and benign for a cop to get rid of an individual disliked for whatever reason...

Thaksin's 'war on drugs' was just that......all out elimination. In Thailand there is a distinct lack of balance between, on the one hand a 'knee jerk' solution and on the other doing absolutely nothing and turning a 'blind eye'. Both of these options require little or no real reasoning or constructive thought as to the consequences. Decisions taken today will always be someone else's problems tomorrow. Accountability does not exist in this 3rd world country.TIT

That's risky, if it hits his brain or eyes his driving might get worse.

So much is being said about the drivers hair style, yes, it does look stupid, but I think posters should be more concerned about his being high on drugs than about his hair style.

Talking about hairstyles, what about those guys who don't even have a hairstyle, they look like they just got out of bed and didn't bother combing it. You see them everywhere, serving in restaurants, working in offices etc

I'm not making excuses for those drivers, but unlike in western countries, BKK bus drivers don't work to a timetable, that would be impossible on local buses for obvious reasons. They are paid by the amount of journeys they make on their routes on each shift.

Are they going to hype him up and do renactment of crime? whistling.gif
