Trying to log into hotmail and to start with I just get a screen in Thai, like everyone that is in Thailand can read Thai- useless corporate *********. Tried changing location on the computer, but that doesn't work

So I google "how to log in in English" and I get the screen in English, but it says I have to verify my identity- <deleted>!!!!!!!

So I do the steps and I get a questionaire with a lot of stuff that they can't possibly know the answer to, like "billing information- credit card last 4 numbers", "X box info". What the hell is going on?

Is this a scam?????????????

I don't get Thai login when I log in to Hotmail. What browser are you using? (Chrome is infamous in forcing regional pages and languages - reason I rarely use it - IE is probably our friend as far as that goes). Also turning off "allow websites to determine my location" setting (browser dependent) may help. Failing that try typing HOTMAIL.CO.UK as the address, Hotmail will let you sign in to any account from any regional signing page, so that may help too.

No HOTMAIL.CO.UK does not work. Still goes back to the Thai language screen. I'm using IE.

Thanks anyway.

hotmail now redirects to login.live.com

the url initially gave me a blank screen. Successive retries refreshed to the Microsoft signin page.

I get the sign in page in English OK. It's after I click to log in that I get redirected to the Thai language screen.

Thanks anyway.

I always use Chrome and never have language problems. Maybe your settings are wrong.

My main Email is gmail, and yes I use Chrome for years, but do get a problem ? or is it ? as like now.. Google.com.tr offered in: Türkçe

My PC is set up English UK, 2nd option Thai, 3 option German.......... so why do I get many time a week www.google.com.tr ?? Nothing on my PC is in Turkish, everything is set to UK EN, so why do I get Turkish ??

open a new tab and get www.google.co.th in English.. as set in my settings as default search..

As reported long ago, ThaiVisa appears very slow if it will open at all with TRUE, so in Chrome use Zenmate, so my IP address shows I am connected via London UK. no idea then where www.google.com.tr comes from when I 1st open

Seems like MS is a bust now.

I got a mail back from them saying that I haven't given enough info to unblock my account. Apparently I need to give a complete recent mail to someone else, plus lots of other info.

It's so stupid anyway because I used hotmail in LOS for 3 years, then went back home for 5 months before returning, but they are now saying there is a problem. I get that accounts can be hacked, but wouldn't it have been more logical to have picked me up when I went home, not here.

Anyway, I won't be using hotmail again.

No wonder googling "hotmail sucks" gets a lot of responses. A great many people really hate them, and with good reason.

Perhaps, I went through various posts (people complaining of the same thing - local languages being taken and settings being ignored) and changed all the settings as given - several times. However, it always gave Google Searches back in Thai. At least in FireFox it prompts me afterwards asking if I want the results in English. It has been a while since I bothered with Chrome settings - I use it from time to time, but usually for specific site where it is a better experience with Chrome (it is generally faster at rendering). I use IE mostly, and when I want to hide my location or use another IP Address (such as when wanting to stream US/UK TV etc) I use FF as I have a good little add-on for free vpn redirecting. Chrome also uses a separate process for each add-on with minimum memory allocated to each - so many add-ons and it clogs up the machine - IE has a similar problem with Flash in tabs (like in TVF!) that slowly leak away all the cpu/memory from the system, but the tabs are easy to kill in talk manager (this is a flash "feature" not an IE one). FF also gets killed by Flash over time, but has to be restarted to reclaim the resources.

Is it your home page perhaps? Where do you go when you click home. I use "Http:/www.Google.Com/ncr" which forces Google to go to .COM version regardless of location (as a homepage that is)

Home Page is http://gmail.com the second page that auto opens when I click on the chrome icon is http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/

This is how I set it in My settings for Chrome......... so where does Turkish Google search come from ?

also in my settings the search engine is set as Default is google.com.
