There is a small book. Snakes and other reptiles of Thailand and South-East Asia. Authored by 5 people. Cost me about 400 Bt. I think Asia Books will have it.

Thanks for visiting Mosha, was hoping skywalker would drop past. Maybe soon.

I have a couple of snake books in Thailand, both at home on the shelf, unfortunately I'm not there.

I agree, a few hundred baht, easy.

Hi guys, sorry I am late. I oversleept and yes it was nice. I took a new look on the picture and due to quality (no offence) it´s hard to say what species it could be and as I am out of town I have to wait untill i get home to my books to see if i can find this one out.

If one don´t know for 100% what snake it is treat it as a poisonous snake.

The OP seems to have spotted it In a book and has also emailed, the snake dude in Krabi.

Perhaps a Cantors Kukri ?

Here is two pics of Cantor´s Kukri.

Small and thin hey. That must be a baby.

I'm still not convinced that this is the OP's snake.

Best advise was to take care. Maybe a better photo will come.

I am pretty sure that it is a Kukri snake. If it is, it is non venomous but can give nasty bite. I used to have quite a few in my garden on occasions, The Malayan Pit viper has a very pronounced arrow shaped head which is very different the the Kukri. Like all snakes, it is better to leave them alone unless you know what you are doing.

Indeed. You did well because I was flat out even seeing the head in that picture.

The OP is a great snake keeper but not much of a photographer :P

ps: I suspect there was some running and girly screams involved....reminds me of the time I woke up with a spider in my mouth !

A friend at work also found a big snake in his yard in Chachoengsao so we downloaded an eBook (English language) from this website http://www.thailandsnakes.com/ . The eBook is free and contains 80 pages of common snakes found throughout Thailand. You might be able to match your snake up to one of the snake photos in this eBook and find out what species it is. Be warned that it is a 30MB book, and you need to leave your email address for them to send the downloading link to. You can;t just download directly from the website.
