Thaiwi
Just read this online, first hand account. Not sure about other locations. Does anyone remember of the border was closed in the last coup? Need to apply for my Non O soon. Slightly worried. See: pictures attached. Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

Popular Post davejones23
If this was true, wouldn't there be more reports of people being denied entry? As usual, lots of false info on here. One person above says borders were closed for days last time, well then next person arrived the next day. Wish people who don't know don't post false info.

casindonet
Hi Casindonet....what is the source of that, please? I'm working in a casino at the border....is that good enough? Charmingly polite....I assume you must be working at ALL the borders as you say they are all closed. So, to answer your question: "No, not really" Answer this 1 simple question....how are you allowed entry if the borders are closed? When I mentioned only Thais are allowed entry is because they have to clear all thai citizen from the border area in Cambodia. Once the thai citizen are cleared then the borders will be seal, as in close. So, again how are you to cross in & out?

POSA290103
I'm in Suvannakhet now. Arrived this morning to apply for a double entry tourist visa. Dropped off my passport along with a Brit and a Sweedish gent I met at the Mukdahan bridge crossing getting non-o visa's. My thai wife is with me and if I can't get through I hope she can. We have a 3 yr old son waiting for us in Pho Chai. I'm waiting to start a job in Oslo sometime in late June and all my work clothes are in our house in Pho Chai. A few days stuck here won't be too much of a incovenience but I'll not have my pick-up on the other side of the bridge if my wife leaves without me. Hopefully, this will get sorted out soon. If I'm stuck here I'll let you guys know tomorrow afternoon. If I get through I'll post a message tomorrow around 6pm. Hang in there guys! I think it's going to be a bumpy ride for a while. POSA290103
Another piece of info. After getting to the consulate I heard anyone trying to do a turnaround at the Suvannakhet crossing wasn't permitted to go directly back through Laos immigration. Well as you are the admin, you could easily just check with any immigration officers in chongchom or poipet if you want to know the real situation. Perhaps you can even explain to the casino owner why they won't be any tour group or gamblers coming to our casino tomorrow.

Popular Post casindonet
Or you could post your source - some guy perhaps? what kind of source do I need if I am actually at the border check point? the casino I'm working is like 3 minutes walk to the border. all thai customers are asked to leave the casino by the immigration, all our thai staff have to leave too. it all started at 5pm & by 6pm the gates were closed on both side. no one is allowed in & out once the border is closed, it's as simple as that. all tour groups & gamblers are not allowed to cross into Cambodia tomorrow due to border closer.
