Hey there!

I've just moved to Mae Sai to start my new job - looks like I'll be hitting up Chiang Rai at weekends for fun - just wondered if anyone had any tips/pointers on good places to go to pick up people etc? (I'm not into hookers).

As a bi guy, I'm VERY into ladyboys - pulled 3 of them during my time in Thailand, and had an on-off kathoey girlfriend when I was living in Lop Buri.

Anyways, that's me - any tips would be massively appreciated!

Welcome to the northern part of the country, JohnnoGaGa. I live near CR and have been here for almost 5 years now. I am sorry I can not help you with your specific inquiry, however...I might be able to help somewhat. I too, venture into CR occasionally hoping to meet others. So far, it hasn't happened. Probably because I haven't really tried in earnest. Like yourself, I am bi and would enjoy meeting for coffee or a beer sometime. Let me know what you think. Top Hat

Best of luck to both of you and if you find anything interesting in the CR area, be sure and let us know.

It's some years since I was there too, which is why I didn't post earlier.

There were two go-go bars near the Wangcome Hotel, one facing the right side of the hotel as you approach it, and the other in a soi round to the right past some girlie bars.

For less commercial contacts, I would think the area round the night bazaar is probably as good as any.

OP always has the option to sign-up to the well-know Thai friendly website... and find ladyboys around CR and start to chat with them...

That hotel is really called Wang-Come?
