I am applying for a visit visa for my fiancée and her daughter.
Read I need to apply for the daughter with her own application.
That is done and both applications printed off.
Appointments one after the other. Looking at getting VIP appointment so less hassle and waiting.

Question is I am working on their supporting documents folders. There is no information I can find. So assuming they need two individual folders? But I only have one copy of wage slips etc to add to their folders. What happens there? Do I get my fiancee to state the ECO should refer to her own supporting documents folder in her daughters forum regarding proof of fianances etc?

Separate applications but one file of documents and link the two applications. Main file for mother and supplementary documentation for her daughter.

Thanks for that. I will use just the one 40 page A4 pocket file then.

So do i just add the two printed applications into the two first pockets?

Or are the printed applications handed in separate from the supporting documents folder?!

I'll affix labels on the front of the A4 pocket file. One with app ref and name of my fiancée and the other for her daughter.

My fiancee's daughters father is dead. So I've ensured she got a death certificate for her daughters father. Didn't want the ECO to question if the father had given permission for his daughter to leave the country for 3 months. In the end my fiancee did not get the certificate translated into English. She moaned it would cost 8300 baht?! What! She will not pay as always wants to save money. Too late now anyway. Will this be a problem? Pushed for time now as I don't arrive in Thailand till Saturday evening. VFS appointment is Monday afternoon. Translation companies are wanting 3 days to translate, most closed Saturday. All closed Sunday. So no chance getting them translated in a few hours before interview. Fiancee in Laos and travelling to Thailand today. She is rushing about now after busy getting stuff in Laos (her country) from the Nai Bahn and Police. She can only send a photo of the certificate to me with LINE app and the uploaded photo quality would be too poor to email now a translation company to give them time to translate. I've asked her to scan it and send to my email. Don't think she'd get time to find a shop with a scanner and get them to email me it. She doesn't use email. (Remind me to set her one up on her phone and show her how to email smart phone pics lol). Would the laos death certificate be okay, def need english translation or a last minute simple certification be sufficient?

I am hoping I am just going over the top trying to cover every avenue to give the ECO no possible reason to reject our visa submissions. I'm a worrier.

She has her and her daughters birth certificate. This document has laos/thai alongside english on it. States on daughters father is dead.

She has a police clearance certificate (criminal record sheet - clean) and this is in english translation issued my police.

She has what I think is the start of marriage papers from Nai Bahn to show she is single and village chief has no objection to our marriage application. Written in Laos/Thai apart from my details (which they translated from my given roman date to thai date wrong and put me as 37yrs old instead of 36).

Another doc in Thai/Laos which I think is a residence certificate.

I am in need of some guidance please if anyone with knowledge could help me?

Are these documents ok as they are for a visit visa and child visa?

I have plenty decent photos to show strength of our relationship inc Bacci wedding ceremony and photos with me, fiancee and child.

I also include a separate 58 page document in small font, 3 columns each page, double sided print, of all out LINE app messages, phone and video call logs, time stamps of photo messages. 99.9% in thai script. Handing in as a separate document. Need to show a really serious relationship as she is unemployed so can't use as a vaild reason to return a job.

So what is the consensus and previous experiance with translations with visit visa apps. Esp regarding my position in peoples opinions please. Really stressful times ahead sad.png

First of all try and stop stressing, I know it's easy for me to say but your girlfriend is only applying for a visit visa, many people do this everyday without a problem, it's a simple and straightforward process.

Your fiancée will hand in the applications and supporting documents together, whether she puts the apps in the folder is really immaterial, the VFS person checking the apps will take them out to read them, they will all go off to the UKVI in a pack.

They do ask that all documents are translated into English but I doubt very much if the applications would be refused because one document isn't translated, the ECO may well decide the application on the strength of the other documents. They do have Thai staff in the departments, if the document is in Thai the ECO may well ask one of the staff to look at it. I would refer to the document in your covering letter, adding the bit about the price and maybe say that if required you would get the document translated, ECO are real people and live in the real world, they are not setting out to refuse an application just ensuring that genuine apps are granted.

The police certificate wasn't required and the fact that the head honcho in the village is content for her to marry is of no consequence and probably neither will be looked at by the ECO.

You are right in your thoughts about demonstrating your relationship as your girlfriend has no strong to her home country, but still don't go for overkill.

The only thing I would be concerned about is the length of the proposed trip, is it really three months or have I misunderstood you? Three months is one heck of a holiday, how old is the child, does she go to school, what would they do all day whilst, presumably, you're at work?

Reading the guidelines given to ECO for reasons to refuse criminal records came in to it. A clean police record goes a little way to showing a good character I though. The acceptance of marriage application signed I assume by a local police office/province should again help to demonstrate we are in a serious relationship. We've been in a relationship since November. Saturday will be my 4 visit to her in 7 months. staying 19 days. Her daughter is 4. Just started school. Her elder daughter is 10 and will remain to lnot hinder her education and look after my fiancées mother who is dependent on her.

The short term visa is given for 6 months. We've stated she will stay 11 weeks. She is coming over her for that period of time so we can spend an extended period together. Obvious reasons before we commit with marriage papers in the future. I work shifts so not as you 'presumed' at work during the day. I also get a 10 day off rota. Plus work only 66% of the year. What do you think a wife that does not work or a child of 4 and under does at home if they are not employed or in summer holidays from school? I presume you... sorry lol I am teasing you. Thanks for your input. Makes sense to spend a while together. Will not affect education of younger child. Will be benificial to her picking up english. Fiancee doesn't have work ties so can spend the time no problem. We need some time together. I can't do that in Laos with my employment. Otherwise it is travel to Laos/Thailand every 2 months and lack of work during. This 6 month short term visa (stating we will only require 11 weeks) seems the most logical option. No it is not just a visit visa to us. We are in a serious relationship. Any wrong reason for refusal. And it would be wrong. Will set us back. Set me back in getting the youngest child into school here next term start in Sept 2015. Set us back in gaining a settlement visa by summer next year. You get the picture. I was really just after advice on the documents translations though.
