Leaving Thailand at the moment when you're Thai

Featured Replies

Hi there,

My thai wife and my son will flew next week to Europe
I'm wondering how the martial law and coup d'Etat may affect it for Thai residents.
If anyone has/had a thai relative (not involved with politic of course) who took the plane recently for aboard his/her testimony would be welcome.
Thanks for that

I'm Thai and travelled from Bangkok to the UK on 24th May.

There were no problems leaving Thailand at all. I used the automatic gates at Suvarnabhummi and they were working normally.

For ordinary citizens, don't worry.

We are leaving Bangkok on Cathay Pacific Friday morning. How do we find the airline to checkin in such a huge airport. I have searched for maps and they tell me nothing. I understand they are on the fourth floor. What is the easiest way to get to Cathay Pacific to checkin?

All the check-in desks are on the same level, as you enter the check in level there are big screens with all the departures for the next few hours, those screens will give the appropriate check-in rows, there is probably only a 5 minute walk, 10 at the most if it's really busy, from one end to the other.

Cathay Pacific use row M, http://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_GB/travel-information/airport/other-airports/airport-details.BKK.html

Can we enter the airport on level 4? If not, exactly where do we enter the airport?

Depends how you're getting there, if you're going by taxi the guy will drop you at the appropriate gate at the departure level.

If you're arriving by bus or the Airport Link then you will have to go up via escalator or elevator.

If you're driving and parking then there's a walkway to level 3 and you go up the escalator.

The airport is big but not huge, it's well signposted and really not difficult.

If travelling by taxi or being driven to the air port,Your Taxi should to drop you off at door #6 on the 4th floor level, (does not always happen as taxi drive not understand or the airport is very busy an they will drop you wherever they can), on entering the terminal at door #6 your check in desks will be block "M" slightly to the right.
