customax
Just moved to Jomtien Plaza and need internet access. Can I get SDSL or Cable access here? ADSL > 2Mbits what isp is the best here, will I be able to get the 2Mbits speeds on the net to europe etc? Should I go for Private ADSL or take business subscription normally the overbooking factor is much lower on these. Can I actually get ADSL in Jompttien plaza? Prize is not an issue
Phil Conners
I think both TTT and TOT offer ADSL in Jomtien. No cable access anywhere in Pattaya/Jomtien, nor SDSL afaik. I think the fastest you will find is 1024/512 (TOT) or 512/256 (TTT) and you will rarely get the full speed to Europe - expect at best 80% or so. Generally the more you pay the better speed you get (more money = fewer people share the line). If money is no issue and service and speed of importance I'd suggest you check in with CSLOX in 3rd road - just around the corner from TOT. Phil Conners
No experience with that particular branch myself, but as always in Thailand "buyer beware". They will say anything in add's to sell something, there seems to be no law preventing this. I'd make sure to hear from someone trustworthy that this is really what it claims to be and worth the money.

monty
The fastest you probably can get will be 1024/512. These packages are available in several qualities, home use, advanced home use, small business use and business use. Prices go up steeply for business use, Following example is from Maxnet, TT&T's ISP. http://www.maxnet.co.th/product_4home.php http://www.maxnet.co.th/product_4lite.php http://www.maxnet.co.th/product_4sme.php http://www.maxnet.co.th/product_4biz.php Prices for that speed range between 1000 Baht/month up to a whopping 21000 Baht/month. Best price/speed ratio will probably be the life package at 4000 Baht. You'll seldom see speeds drop below 70% of the rated max speed. The more expensive ones will offer virtually guaranteed speeds, and most probably a much better support if someting goes down...
