Possible to get single entry Non-Imm B in Penang within 24h?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am planning to fly to Penang on the 24th June and would arrive there in the late afternoon.
Is it possible to apply for a Non-Immigrant B single entry Visa in the morning of the 25th and recieve the Visa until lunchtime on the 26th so that i could fly back to Samui in the afternoon of the 26th???
Can someone confirm that some guesthouses offer sme sort of "express service" for an additional fee? And if so, which ones can you recommend?
Banana guesthouse only send a pretty useless info saying "... you might be lucky but no promise..."... :-(

Thnak you in advance,

Alex Mitsch

some agents,( Like jim on Chula street and banana ) or Minigood hotel will get it back to you before noon for an extra fee

otherwise its 2:30

Unfortunately they both say its impossible in a pretty useless and very short email ...
Did they just stop offering this express service or is it not possible for Business Visa??

Any other recommendations apart from Banana and mingood hotel? Does anyone have the up-to-date contact details of Jim?

Cheers

I stand to be corrected, but I think the pa requirement was actually 'introduced' shortly after MH370.

When I was at the Penang consulate 2 days ago, there is a sign saying that they no longer offer an express visa processing service for an extra fee, (and neither for free!)

Simon

jim will be able to do it for 1000 baht, you neerd proof you are flying out the next day, photocopy your e ticket.

Simon i saw that sign last time i used the service but that was about 6 mos ago.

If you want it you need to speak to an agent.

Penang have tightened up a lot since the MH370 disappearance (2x Iranians were travelling on this flight using Stolen IDs based on passports that had been misappropriated in Thailand) - now the norm for non immigrant visa applicants is to appear at the Consulate in person.

Thanks for your input guys!

Unfortunately the number above is not working... :-(

Cheers

Thats what i did a week ago ... no reply....

thai law says you must be out of the kingdom for a minimum of 24 hours.. thus the morning turn-in

and the afternoon pick-up the next day. forces a 24 hour stay.

that said, i've heard there are people with "contacts" (read friendly accomplices) that can, for an

extra charge, get around the law and get to back to you sooner.
