Seems like for years there was a place near TG, just north of John's place that was selling the Burmese walking sticks for about 300ish. A nice piece of rebar makes a much better dog weapon. There are several different places on Tha Pae Road that sell them. Mainly familiar with the North side of the street. Could have some on the south side also. I believe they are called Burmese walking sticks. Not that great if you need them for support. A cane should be only from the ground to Your wrist. Any thing higher and you are using your arm mussels. In fact that might be a bit high. Test them by using them as you are stranding on some thing. If on the other hand you just want one for looks and to smack a soi dog they are great. They can also be unscrewed at the half way point for packing purposes. So I explained the difference between a cane and a walking stick. Sorry if you feel inferior about the little bit of extra knowledge I passed on. Found a thai website...Thai Craft Warehouse..located at Phrao. 450 baht for a nice looking walking stick,Neemwood with flat handle. They will send via EMS.
