What grade c insurance cover for old cars?

Featured Replies

Hello!

Last week a dog running into our car

Now the side door is scratched and little bid damage

Is this usually covered in grade c insurance for old cars or not?

I do not know what "grade c" insurance is. However, both of my cars are over five years old and have never suffered any damage. In the west that coverage is called "collision coverage" and can be excluded at substantial savings. Likewise, if you have good medical insurance or are self insured, you can drop the medical coverage and save a great deal more.

My two cars have million baht liability coverage, (covers damage to others and their property) and nothing else and I now pay one third of my previous premiums for what many refer to as "grade A" coverage from one of the grade A companies.

If I drove a motorcye I certainly would get the most insurance coverage possible as accident risk is substantially higher on that vehicle, especially medical.

I would suggest what you mean by Grade C is 3rd Class ? If that is the case then no you are not covered as 3rd Class is for Third Party damage only.

To insure against the problem you had one needs 1st Class, and that will depend on the vehicles age.

If you mean Gov compulsory insurance as said not covered.

No one will own up to the dog belonging to them.biggrin.png

Fixing small things in car bodyshops is very cheap here I find.

We have second class which suits our needs.
