The "Suvarnabhumi Taxi" Training Program Kicks Off

Taxi drivers are showing much interest in AOT's "Suvarnabhumi Taxi" training program

Taxi drivers planning to operate in Suvarnabhumi airport have shown overwhelming interest to enter the "Suvarnabhumi Taxi" training program to lift the quality of their service.

Airports of Thailand President Chotisak Asapaviriya (โชติศักดิ์ อาสภวิริยะ) said the AOT is collaborating with the Department of Land Transport in holding this program between June 19th and July 7th.

Taxi drivers who plan to join the taxi queues at Suvarnabhumi Airport may enrol to receive a certificate. The first training round has already had its 2,500 seats filled up.

Mr. Chotisak said taxi drivers will learn usage of basic English language, guideline to developing personality and service, tourism service conscience, as well as traffic law and first aid.

Will they teach the drivers to abuse you clearly in English when they think the trip is too short - I normally get abused in Thai at Don Muang when I want to travel to Suphan Mai - about 150 - 180 including the extra 50 they can charge.

Interesting to see what the fare will be now- it will probably too far away now - as they can't easily get back there for another fare.

Seems you can't win.
