As above this is my plan for the end of the month. I will be heading to Hong Kong for a week and whilst im there I will be getting my Non-O based on marriage to a Thai. not had one before and only just got married officially last week.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of run, any ideas on what I should expect in Hong Kong around proof of income/funds etc?

Any advice of help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Joe, I hope this is still the case.

Will I be able to extend the single entry based on marriage once im ack in the Kingdom? Also what are the pro's with getting a Non-O multientry vs Single entry and where would you advise I get one?

I am struggling with the financial poof if im honest, my wife works and earns fairly good money so we get by, I just dont have the THB 400K or whatever it is this month. I'm 29 years old, 2 kids with Thai nationality and my name on the birth cert etc.

Thanks in advance!

The last report was from November of 2012 of getting one there with no financial proof.

November 2012 was well before the local embassy and consulate 'squeeze' kicked in. I would not count on them still not requiring proof of financials so would recommend contacting them first so that a backup plan can be made. Like Savannakhet.

In order to get an extension of stay based upon marriage you need 400k baht in the bank or 40k baht income.

If you cannot meet the financial your only choice would be to get a multiple entry non-o In Savannakhet. Then if you are able to meet the financials you could apply for the extension during the last 30 days of any the 90 day entries the visa allows.

Yes thanks, I will do that before plans are made concrete. Was just having a preliminary check on TV opinions.

The other thing was that according to some sites, some consultants and some immigration officers I have spoken to say I can get a multi entry O based on having kids as long as we can prove sufficient joint income. But then I have spoken to another person who said not a chance.... Left me very confused and frustrated.. Any thoughts on this?

My wife has setup an appointment with some government office so they can question my 3 year old daughter on who her father is... I am on the birth certificate but apparently that isn't worth its weight in elephant dung.

Sorry Joe, are you saying that I can get a multiple entry non-o In Savannakhet without proof of financials?

I'm a non executive director of a company in the UK and make some money, a lot more than 40k THB a month anyway. but it is not a salary and it is not a set figure so not sure if I can get the letter from the British embassy confirming financials, or is it more of an affidavit? What proof do the British embassy need of my earnings?

i am very close to having enough of this. I am actually looking for other places to live, possibly Germany, HK or Singapore, if not return to the UK with my family. Im just sick of it.

There no allowance for both parents income for having a Thai child the financial requirements are exactly the same as those for marriage. The only difference between the two is that the money does not have to be in the bank for 60 days for one based upon having a Thai child.

If married you cannot do the extension based upon having a child it is only for single parents.

Yes you can get the multiple entry non-o in Savannakhet with no financial proof. There are many reports on this forum about it.

Okay thanks. I will look in to this and maybe go for that if it makes things easier.
