Better not to speculate until more evidence is at hand but it's not the Thai way.

I agree but really, should you announce that you know who they are? Giving them a chance to flee knowing that they are suspects. I'm not in law enforcement but I think I would try another ploy. A Thai friend in Surin, not politically connected or a crook, as several he keeps at home in case of intruders. The mentality and intelligence is worrying because he ain't on his own. Yes we live under a junta, it beats living under a shin dictatorship. I do agree however that something needs to be done about the freedom of the press. It is not like the Shins did not control the news or replace civil servants if they came out with bad news about the rice scam. It has now been proven they were right and the Shins lying. This is similar, but a bit worse. I hope it changes soon though it does do wonders for redshirts their blood pressure. If it was low that is they can't vent like they could before. Apart from jumping too quickly with a statement of blame the BIB may have made a major mistake in mentioning ' political motivation, ill-intentioned people trying to incite unrest ' etc as in some quarters any suggestion of opposition to the current situation would not be welcomed. No doubt the BIB were ' invited ' to review their initial suspicions and comments and a teenage gang fight sounds much better in the current context.
