Some of you guys make me laugh! you really think the army took power to 'clean up' Thailand, get rid of the mafia and establish the Rule of Law kind of like a new sheriff in some small town in America!

Rubbish. They are doing loads to benefit the general public. Even down to van parking space, organizing traffic, stopping those who try to run mafia business over the heads of motorcycle taxis.
