Police say several violent incidents linked to UDD

Recommended Posts

They have evidence, so likely they know who is involved in some of the cases, all they need is to round up a few of them and make them squeal, which they certainly will do, and I hope it ends in an almighty domino topple and leads right to the door of the UDD leaders.

We all know that they have been implicit in all these murders, and we also know on who's word.

Let's all hope that as I suspect, the names Jatuporn. Thida, Nattawut, Surapong and Chalerm come out in the wash... The biggest bonus names will be Thaksin and Yingluck.

The UDD is deffo going to become an outlawed organization, and I doubt they will be able to just reinvent themselves under a new name.

Would also be nice if certain police are named as being involved in both the actions taking place and the cover ups and who ordered the investigations to be stifled.

The 'red shirts' are coming to their end.

SCUM!!!!!

Well we now know who the infamous "THIRD HAND" that Chalerm liked to claim would cause conflict are!

He did get quite good at predicting what would happen.

As we haven't seen or heard from him for a while he could just be explaining to the relevant authorities how he was able to make his predictions, as in helping with the inquiries.

If that is the case it could explain why he needs to be in protective custody for there could be those who would resent any new predictions he may make.

I think you'll find Chalerm wasn't predicting anything . . . he was giving orders and suggestions . . . and I won't be at all surprised to see both PTP and UDD disbanded and all members barred from Politics once this is all cleared up.

Disbandment and ban from politics would not be shockers, if they happen.

Not so sure it is would be a good course of action, though, if this country is to move forward.

Much better to punish those responsible, and let the organizations themselves evolve (or devolve) naturally.

If leadership and funding will be cut off, and with obvious for all evidence, it would be harder to spin it as yet

another dissolution of ruling party (a repeated narrative which only enforces the side's resolution and sense

of being marginalized). Might pave the way for real change, rather than seeing another version of the same

come back to life in a couple of years.

Ok now arrest the military officials responsible for the massacres of 2010, 2004, 1992, 1976 and 1972, treason committed against a constitution, the enriching of Sarit who came out worth 2 billion at the end of his reign. As well as the people who falsely testified leading to the exiling of Pridi and the executions of 3 innocent men who were in no way responsible for the death of Rama 8.

.......but......but......but it wasn't them......it was the fascist `Suthep and the mad monk.....not good red people!!!!

Actually several Suthep people have been arrested and charged, and the press has (lightly) reported them, with names and events.

But yes, this is basically a farce. The police have approximately 0.0% chance of linking any of the violence to any bigshots. What shout worry everyone is that a press conference like this with "we are hot on the trail of... " means, in translation, "we may get a scapegot or two by next week, but all in all, we're pretty clueless". It would be great if all the killers from the past six months were brought to justice, but it's not going to happen any more than it will happen for 2010, 2008....

It's not a political thing. I'm convinced the violence is almost all by really rogue elements who simply aren't connected and aren't going to give themselves away. If you look at that one in Trat where they got the two red shirts, it was three people who bragged on one another. Without that kind of clue, these people are all going to go scot free - all sides, all elements.

I just wonder if the yellows on here will be making the same statements when they start rounding their violent thug wing!

And as for statements like thaksin and yingluck and the shin clan is finished and irrelevant.

I wouldn't be counting the chickens before they hatch!

There will be an election one day!

The bbc's Jonathan head seems to think not, articles a bit old but it gets the point a x http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-27735992

I just read the article. And indeed, the reporter neither comes to the conclusion that the red shirts are at their end nor that they are scum (nor anything else for that matter). Nevertheless, yellow shirt supporters can read the article with joy. He describes the current situation, which is obviously not very promising for the foreseeable future. So, reading the article will contribute to the party you're having right now. Have fun!

Oddly enough he did not visit ANY yellow shirt/PCAD/Bangkok site which had nothing to do with the Red Shirts or the UDD but he could find the time to go up to Isaan.

On the BBC website this morning was this. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-27969600

Of all the positive things that have happened he managed to find something bad against the Army but failed, as usual, to report the work against corruption, that the police are now starting to do their jobs, weapons recovery and a host of other things.

And people say that he is not biased.

"were in the process of going after them."

What a JOKE

Go after the money maniac of Dubai. All attacks were paid and planned by him or for him.

Doesn't UDD mean UNDER DUBAI DIRECTIVES.

Don't hold your breath waiting for crackdown on yellow wing: it isn't going to happen, other than perhaps a couple sacrificial lambs to make it appear they are doing something. Remember appearances count more than reality here.

Red government was corrupt, inept, all that. But the underlying currents for their popularity will remain: people outside Bangkok(and many inside) are tired of being marginalized, seen as slaves to the old power elite. Putting all the red leaders in jail is not going to change that. New ones will emerge.

There will be an election one day, just as soon as they figure how not to count votes from red leaning populists, so that yellow can stay in drivers seat.

A lot of the people who committed those crimes are still alive. I am all for arresting anyone who attacks anyone, but there cannot be any double standard. The UDD is wrong but so is the military. Both should be thrown in jail.

Yes and the rice farmers hated it when they really got paid. No?

Well bild they mightn't be called the PTP who knows but the north will determine the next government and it sure won't be the yellow/ dems there is just to much history there now and that's why I made the remark that's just the way it is.

but the north will determine the next government

Including the rice farmers whom got their rice money paid by the military too? Keep on dreaming!

I very much doubt that the north will determine the next government especially if there are ANY Shinawatras involved.

I do agree with you however about the yellow shirts (who no longer exist anyway) but the Democrats may stand a chance if they can dump Abhisit and the old dinosaurs in the party.

Just a reminder that posts using derogatory nicknames or intentional misspelling of people’s names will be removed. If you don’t want your post to be removed, spell people’s names correctly.

If people believe that by paying the farmers that the north it will get the dems back in then I'm afraid you are sadly deluded!

They were shunned and disenfranchised for far to long by the yellow elite and made them pay and it will happen next time.

All these feel good headlines and propaganda that you guys are swallowing hook line and sinker will mean nothing by the time elections come around.

Yingluck and thaksin are very much in the picture and enjoy widespread popularity and any shinawatra who chooses to stand will enjoy enormous support purely on the back of what has happened over the past 8 years.

Move on?i

I think not!

The police should seek a good PR Company or just keep quiet. This type of nebulous, non-definitive and weak statements make them look foolish in the public eye. Here is a tip - Don't say anything until it is done and then make a clear and strong announcement on how well the arrests were executed.

I am rather certain the police would like to do that. But it cannot work that way. The police are constantly approached by media representatives, organisations or other "interested parties" and asked for information. Staying mum would immediately rise suspicion (cover up, incompetence). So, they must provide at least some information (weak, though).

I think the most interesting bit of information in their statement is the word "several" instead of stating "all" or "most". One could come to the conclusion that they actually investigate into all directions. Well, we will see about that then.

And regarding the murders: What else is there to say then produce the evidence and bring them to justice (sort of). "Red" murder is worse than "yellow" murder? "Yellow" murder is worse than "red" murder? I don't think so.
