tagranados Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Has anyone ever had a problem with all these ants crawling around inside their laptops? I've ignored this for a long time, but I cannot help wondering.
BuddhistVirus Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Some ants in laptop discussion here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?/topic/679789-Ants-ate-my-laptop Hope you find some solutions there.
infinity11 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Yes of course. Electronic equipment often uses soldering with flux, a fat like substance. Some ants love to eat fats and oils!!!!!
Crossy Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 They certainly seem to have an affinity for electronics (although I thought it was the electric fields that attracted the beasties, they do tend to congregate in the PSU), unfortunately they also attract jinjoks to eat them, high voltage power supplies don't fare well (neither do the jinjoks) "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
rijb Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I've lost two A/C cards, due to lizards eating ants in there. But, I think ants prefer Windows over OSX. I knew they were stupid!

Nah, ours prefer the open-source option FreeBSD http://www.freebsd.org/ , killed the PSU in my UNRAID NAS 1 "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
astral Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 This reminds me of the origins of the expression "to debug a programme" where problems were caused in the early machines by real bugs shorting circuits. 1
ryanhull Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I remember a small ants nest in my toastie maker, needless to say I switched it on and they scattered quite sharpish

elgordo38 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I keep two small containers of sugar water on my computer desk and they are both full of ants. Its tastier than the inside of my computer.
ryanhull Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Yeah they are, not sure they are when they have thousands of ants inside them thou... Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand
ravip Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 They attack the rubber at the bottom of the keyboard too.
