Visa class W 90

Featured Replies

I arrived in Bangkok (Don Mueng Airport) on the night of the coup. The Immigration officer must have been distracted because on the stamp in my passport next to VISACLASS he wrote W90 instead of Non B (I have a Non B visa sticker). I didn't even notice until today when I went to the Labour Department and they pointed out that I couldn't apply for a work permit because the stamp has W90 written on it and not Non B.

Does anyone have an idea as to what W90 refers to? Do I have to go back to airport to get the W90 changed to Non B or do I have to go to Chaeng Wattana? It can be changed, right?

Guess W90 = Work 90 days.

If it's not too inconvenient, then go back to Don Muang and explain that you have a problem with Labour - sure it wont be a problem to change to the correct visa class.

I thought the main Bangkok immigration office had a desk specifically meant for correcting notations made in error when entering the country.

Per above, go to Chaeng Wattana road to correct any mistakes.

Yes. Chaeng Wattana it is for this sort of thing. I went yesterday morning, the queue ticket they give you is the K variety. It did take a few minutes to explain that I didn't want an extension though.

They pull up your arrival card to verify that you filled it out correctly, then you fill out a form, photocopy the pages with the stamp and your visa and wait.

Start to finish: two hours at Immigration
