I see there is a quick voting poll in that other newspaper re do you think it is necessary to report to Immigration every 90 days of your residency?

Currently a big NO,clap2.gif not necessary and a waste of manpower, cost too much on fuel etc. To mention some of the points.smile.png

I presume this poll is being taken on behalf of Immigration and the result will be forwarded to them.

I call it "My report to the parole officer".

I would prefer a system, where foreigners are given some sort of an ID card with the duty to report any change in their address.

I would, too, and they have it. It's called permanent residency. Not easy to get. Reporting every 90 days is easier.

"...with the duty to report any change in their address."

Given the number of people who admit to overstaying for years or who miss the 90 day reports or who go looking for ways to circumvent existing visa & extension rules or brag that they never do 90 day reports ... I can understand the government's reluctance to rely on a system that involves a farang sense of duty.

Interesting parole officer comment. Are you on parole from the "prison" of life in farang land?
