Google Flight Search..........

Featured Replies

Really cool, recently upgraded. It displays a map with the lowest fares to all neighboring cities of the place you want to go (in addition to that one). I've heard people are saving a bundle going to Europe, as prices can vary widely from Country to Country. They say Kayak does something similar, but is much slower.

does the program have a name or web site?

matrix ita?

edit: probably not. i've been on the site all day and don't see anything different.

Not Chiang Mai specific, moved to Travel Forum.

Yup, amd it says right on top of the page

Sorry, flights from Thailand are not currently supported

OK, I got the heading in a different mail.

however, it doesn't do Thailand or Australia.

I got price quotes on a number of flights out of CNX earlier, today. I've never seen more people, who insist on doing things the hard way.

OP,

I am a big fan of both "itaMatrix" and "Google.Flights".

Have you tried Skyscanner ? It also has an interactive map with low fares and works far more efficiently than Kayak.

Cheers

Flight Explore doesn't work in Thailand:

That was not the site I mentioned, since it was a Google site, I really didn't think it would be that challenging to find.......sheeeesh.

Flight search most certainly does:

https://www.google.com/flights/

I've used Priceline for 15 years without a problem. Currently on my 6th free r/t from the US to LOS in the last 7 trips....so I game the system, that's for sure.

Never did like Kayak...way too bulky/sloppy. Seen people get burned by Orbitz and then there were reports that Expedia gives different choices based on your OS.

Here is the article about it:

I recently started a thread to find flights the easy way. I got several good replies, but found out already that it is a knife that cuts both ways.

I found for instance a flight to my home country on Skyscanner, and today also the same flight on google and most other search engines, with jet airways at 31.600 Baht as the cheapest option.

Other online providers would sell the same flight at 33.000 Baht or more. My local travel agent would sell me the same flight at 32.100 Baht.

Difference is that with ALL the online purchases I am allowed 10kg of checked luggage only because it is a webbased purchase, while through the travel agent I am allowed 30kg.

A popup also made clear that in case I couldn't use the ticket I would not be able to recover a single Baht of the paid moneys.

I will go the hard way, and pay the 500 Baht premium for an extra 20 kg luggage and possibility to recover some of the paid moneys in case of an emergency cancelling.

Flight Explore doesn't work in Thailand:

Sheeeesh, you didn't even notice that flight explore is a google site as well, and is actually the one with the interactive map.

unless it's an agent that will take my us credit card (no fee) and the confirmation number appears on the receipt; I wouldn't touch a Thai travel agent with a 10 foot pole.......numerous big rip-offs in CNX.

Everywhere are rip offs, but I bet a travel agent which is established for as long as I remember ( 19 years) has little risk to be a scammer.
