Personal experience with pool contractors in Ubon?

Which pool contractor servicing the Ubon area would you recommend for a concrete and tile pool?

Or has anyone here built their own pool and acted as general contractor?

What's your advice for getting a good quality pool at a good price?

I'm interested in a pool around 10-14 m long and 4-6m wide.

Not many domestic pools around so do not be surprised if you don't get much response. I had my 15m by 4.5m pool in amphur Kantharalak built by a combination of my local builder and a Bangkok specialist pool contractor three years ago. No way would I have wanted to take responsibility for supervising a build myself - too much stress and I had enough money for cost not to be a defining issue. Just a personal choice - I am sure you can save a load of money if you have the time/balls.

I'm not sure my experience will be of outstanding value to you because:

* I do not know how much the pool cost on a standalone basis - it was included in a larger project that included an extension block of two bedrooms and a pool shower room together with water supply well and tower

* I did not search for potential Ubon suppliers (the only local ones I knew of at the time were Des Joyeaux; subsequently I know of JD Pools; I suspect all others come from Khon Kaen/Udon or Bangkok/Pattaya

* I would not unreservedly recommend my own suppliers. I do trust my builder (a well-known amphur-wide domestic and commercial builder who also works out of province) and was broadly happy with his work. I was less impressed with the Bangkok input

Nonetheless my experiences with building and operating a pool, albeit in Sisaket province not Ubon may be of use to you. Bergen - probably attending the hash too - also has a pool (a bit smaller than mine and yours) built and operates it at his farmstay in Nam Yuen region in Ubon.
