border closed for visa run?

I just called the visa run company in Bangkok that I use for visa run tomorrow and informed that the border is closed for visa run.

Anyone heard of any news regarding this matter?

Called and booked reservation with different company but want to make sure.

No reports of the border being closed. There was a report before of visa run company saying that but it was not true either.

I was in Vientiane on wednesday and no one said anything. Only that its a public holiday on the 14 and 17(?)

Probably just the company not having enough people to run. And it is easier to blame somebody else.

the thai embassy is closed on the 14th because of a buddha day.

The company use a so called VIP bus and its always full. I've seen them send people away without

reservation. I don't tink having enough client is their problem.

Asalha Bucha Day on Friday,11th July followed by a holiday in lieu for Buddhist Lent on the following Monday. At least that's what they're doing in Penang - when I tried to check Laos last week their website was down. It's back up today but I'm no clearer on when they celebrate these holidays.
