Hmmmmm.....

UK has 130,000 police, Thailand has double that.

Both similar population.

A shooting report in the UK will see a swarm of armed police within minutes.

Far be it from me to make comparisons but........

The Thai police are missing a lot of sleep lately due to the football, they catch up in the afternoons.

This is Terrible!! They dont care at Jomtien police STN, They should not be in the job!
It happened to me 8 years ago I called jomtien police (the nearest to the location) to report an emergency, they were kind of random on the phone, no urgency at all, talking to eachother while i was "holding the line listening" and then the lady gave me another 038 number and said call that one.. It was an emergency and I had to get hold of a pen and paper... and then try to explain the entire story to another person on another number

but if your house has been broken into and you notice it the next morning and ring the police all they will do is give you a crime number for the insurance, they wont even be bothered to come round.

What is the point of talking to Jomtien Dongtan police. My crash helmet was stolen one day and I reported it to a policeman sitting there, hands behind his head, leaning back nearly asleep. He told me to drive home without it and buy another one.

Now they have painted very wide red and white no stopping or parking marks all the way from their police box up to the beach gate.

Good job for all the traffic and people. No way...... The cars park on the red and white marks every day all along the road.

What do these police do and why does it go on right outside their police box?

Ths police probably put the markings there so they coud park their cars. That's who the cars most likely belong to. See it all the time in NYC(ex-NYPD retired FDNY)

The Police were probably far too busy shuffling paper than to attend a shooting.

Getting their priorities right as usual.

There is very little in common between the RTP and various forces with the UK.

Hmmm. I don't earn enough to do a good job so I'll do a crap job then!

The RTP are much more paramilitary than the UK police forces but that doesn't mean much either.

Police at Dongtan are useless, lazy, self-serving and corrupt. My wife's family arrested a car thief. The police wanted 10,000 baht just to take their feet off the desktop.

When the case was taken to Pattaya police they were too weighed down with gold to move.
