Need A Decent Hotel Around 2000 Baht Anight.

Featured Replies

I got my brother and his girlfriend arriving on Tuesday. He asked me to book the Zennith on Soi 3 but its fully booked. So i need to find something for him. Willing to pay about 2000 baht a night. My brother is not the problem as hes been here before. But his girlfriend will want something really nice with swimming pool. Any advice/ ideas guys? Cheers. In advance.

What about soi 4 pleny that way, Nana villiage and further down a few cheapies

Yhe new Dynasty Grande in Soi 6 should fit the bill. 1800 baht a night excluding breakfast.

Very nice rooms and swimming pool just came back from a few days there... :o

Certainly wouldn't bother with the Zenith anyway - ###### management. Was there last year with my folks from the UK and the pool guy was whinging because I was wearing Speedo swimming shorts as opposed to full-blown trunks. On questioning him, he called the assistant manager who came up with four supervisors to explain that they didn't want people in their hotel pool with those type of shorts and that my family should go to Pattaya if I wanted to wear those types of shorts in a hotel - mother was not pleased. :D I then pointed out that 90% of blokes had those type of shorts on, after which he started flapping and threatened to boot everyone out of the pool and said that if he didn't shut the pool to get people out the manager would sack him. <deleted>! A large crowd had gathered by this point, all totally bemused and all mostly wearing shorts and questioning the supervisor... I thought he was going to jump off the roof (rooftop pool) he was so stressed. In the end he said, you all do what you want, I will get fired which is not your problem. :o

I have absolutely no problem if a hotel has this rule but if they don't make customers aware of it on booking then they have no leg to stand on. Apart from that, a very nice place with good rooms and location. Good breakfast, too. But I'd never stay there again and wouldn't recommend it. So if you are tuning in Zenith Hotel manager, you are a complete <deleted>!

The Royal Benja on Soi 5 is pretty good. Huge bedrooms, bathrooms that have 2 person showers and baths, great brekkie and there is a pool although I haven't been to it. A double should come in under 2 grand.

Bel Aire Princess on Soi 5 - I have stayed there about 40 times now

I get a suite there for 2000++ but that is airline crew discount (don't ask :o ) but you will get a superior room for that.

Its being done up as well.

Stayed at Center Point – Soi 10 a few times last year. Decent enough place, good pool, and good breakfast. A bit off sukhumvit, but they have a tuk tuk that runs regularly to/from the end of the soi. Place is geared more towards weekly/ monthly stays, more of a serviced apartment type feel than a hotel.

If you do not mind the Soi#...then Royal Benja, Regency Park Hotel or Tai Pan could be also the choices.

Centrie Point Petchburi soi 15. Anyone stayed there? I know its not too near soi 3 but its an option.

Majestic Grande??? :o

The Tai-Pan hotel on Soi-23, just off Sukhumvit is nice, just a little pricier. I've stayed at the Nana Hotel, the restaurant is nice and the hotel is Ok. Ambassador Hotel is pretty good too. Those are the only places that I could think of for a couple.

I have only heard great praise for the Majestic Grande and the location is just about as close as one could get to the Zenith.

Yeah, there's a good call- the Nana will sit really well with the brothers girl friend. No doubt! :o

I was talking about the hotel portion... the hotel itself and restaurant aren't bad. If the guy were to partake, she would have a problem, if it the presence of prostitution that would be a problem, best not even go to BKK.

Uh-huh. :D And i was thinking in broader terms- like ingressing and egressing the hotel.

Are you now implying all of Bangkok looks like the Nana parking lot? :o
