Does anyone know the Thai script for the vegetable called PAK PED, which is used in GAENG KHAE? The flower heads look like jewels, I understand. I am trying to research its English name.

Thanks for your help.

Does it look like this?

Seems to be this one: ผักเผ็ด (phak phet), a local name for: ผักคราดหัวแหวน (phak khrat hua waen)

Latin names: Acmella oleracea / Spilanthes oleracea.

Source for kaeng khae mentioning acmella oleracea:

Ingredient no. 12 on this recipe for kaeng khae kai:

And (!) contains a link to phak phet:

(I am using RTGS transcript for Thai words, not familiar with English style transcription)

Dear KhunBENQ,

Yes! That is it. Thank you so much for finding all that information for me, including the scientific names. It is the 'toothache plant'.

Much appreciated.
