Back to Back Visa

Featured Replies

Has there been any official announcement regarding the use of 2 Double entry tourist visas in a row?

Is the 12th August crackdown meant to only be about visa exempt stamps?

are you talking about back to back double entry visas or back to back entries on one visa?

are you talking about back to back double entry visas or back to back entries on one visa?

Back to back visas, one from April-August, and getting a new one August-February to be specific.

With no previous history in passport.

i wouldnt think a back to back double would be any easier than a back to back single and there are some here saying back to back tourist visas are a thing of the past. and especially because that would be well over the 180 days per year that some are guessing will be enforced

I was in Toronto last month where I obtained a triple entry visa. I have lived here for roughly 7 years on tourist visas but nearly all of these were obtained at embassies outside Thailand [i.e. I didn't do border runs per say]. Anyway, I arrived back in Thailand on 5 July and was unsure what would happen as I'd read about the looming crackdown but I was admitted at the airport as usual and that has activated the first entry. However, there are increasingly alarming reports that even visas obtained at Thai embassies [if you have a history residing here on tourist visas] will also be rejected by immigration authorities, even if you arrive by air. So, I'm very concerned about this and whether this means the remain entries I have are effectively null and void. There doesn't appear to be solid set of rules for what's going on.

I havent done any border runs either, as in getting the visa exempt stamps, just out and in to Cambodia once to activate the second entry on my ONLY tourist visa. Even though I don't have a long history or a nearly full passport I have become worried due to people saying that soon there will be no tourist visas allowed right after each other no matter the circumstances (I have only been here since April and wish to stay until November/February).

There isn't, yet. Everyone is waiting for more info to come out.

Its about time people realized In this forums that everything is grossly wrong. And a lot of crap and very fabricated.

I was fortunate to speak to an Immigration officer in ChangMai. And he was able to shed some light on the new rules.

And what he told me was so so different to what everyone is saying.

Not going Into any details but In nut shell. its really targeting back To back 30 days.

Correct use of multiple or tipple tourist visa will be honored, if this is not abused.

He also said the rules can and could change before 12th august and that they get pretty pissed of with people writing fabrication of what is not so bad if you follow the correct procedures.

Natalieee, according to latest news reports, it is also about back-to-back entries with tourist visas. Doing this for 11 months, from April to February, increases the possibility that you may come under scrutiny for suspected illegal work in Thailand if you cannot show a travel itinerary and evidence that you are defraying the cost of your touristic stay with money brought in from abroad.

Interesting post.

But if they are getting pissed at what people are writing maybe a good idea would be to shed some light on the correct procedures?

Is that not what going to happen on the 16th. this is silly talk now. just wait we all will find out I have nothing more to add or say. if you not a tourist seek a different visa if you an <deleted> that abuses Thailand good riddance.

rolleyes.gif The honest truth is that we don't think you will have any problems with such a visa.

But we simply can't tell exactly what will happen.

But all we can say is we don't believe it will affect you as you have a valid visa.

As far as we can tell, you will be o.k.

Asking one officer in one location doesnt set the rules for the whole country.. The inconsistency is the problem.

Saying other peoples experiences are fabrications simply as they dont match yours, is not showing much experience at how Thailand works.

But what is a tourist..

I have been on holiday for about the last 15 years.. Why shouldnt I ?? I dont need to work, I travel around, I spend money..

What is different between my use and a 'genuine tourist' except I have more toys here (cars bikes etc). I am actually on a non imm but defining what a tourist is must be firm.
